Sonas Cottage is beautifully situated, overlooking a sea loch and with the North Harris hills providing a spectacular backdrop. Perfect for those who enjoy hillwalking as well as those who prefer to take in the scenery from an armchair.
Purpose built for couples, it is ideally situated on the island of Harris and Lewis, its central location providing the perfect base for exploring.
The main village of Tarbert with restaurants and shops is only 10 minutes drive away.
The cottage benefits from luxury touches such as sauna, cinema room, multi-room music system, wood burner, large cast iron bath and rainfall shower.
The property is extremely spacious, with a 3 bed house plan having been adapted for couples, the other 2 bedrooms housing the cinema and sauna room.

What a fantastic holiday we had at the fabulous Sonas Cottage. A wee luxury haven nestled in the bay, with lots of sheep for company!
The house is fabulous - Angus has thought of everything. Sauna, cinema room, room top bath that's deep enough to float in... it's just fantastic. Really comfy bed, and all the mod cons you could possibly want. We'll definitely come back to Sonas - it's utterly perfect and worth every penny.

Superb, luxurious, base from which to explore wonderful Harris
Sonas is wonderfully quiet but with lovely views over the sea. Accommodation is luxurious and very spacious. It's "away from it all" but only a mile from a mini-market. As Harris' weather is sometimes not "friendly" it's great to have the in-house sauna and cinema room if confined to the house for the day. The house is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. It would be hard to beat as a base for exploring the whole of Harris and Lewis. 5 ***** all round.

The cottages was very well positioned to explore the beautiful island of Harris. The accommodation was excellent. Had everything you could want and more (cinema room was a real bonus given the Covid restrictions).

SUPER STAY - FABULOUS COTTAGE
Sonas Cottage is located about 3 miles north of Tarbert but on the West Coast, overlooking the sea, a few minutes' drive from the main road that leads to The Isle of Lewis, so great for exploring both islands.
The property is ideal for a couple and is immaculate and equipped to a very high specification. Very well fitted kitchen, cosy living room with multi-fuel stove, fabulous cinema room with surround sound, a great double bedroom, sauna, and a separate bathroom with a huge roll-topped bath that is perfect for a long soak after a day's hiking.
Very highly recommended...!

Great cottage in a great location.
This is the perfect place to stay if you're a couple looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. The cottage is very well equipped and the cinema room and sauna kept us entertained during the dark winter evenings.
My favourite part was looking out for the seal popping its head up from time to time in the sea from the living room and looking out for eagles from the back of the house.
Harris is beautiful place and is perfect for longs walks along its amazing beaches and up its variety of mountains if you are so inclined. I am already looking forward to planning another visit soon.

Superb house
You couldn’t ask for better holiday accommodation . Beautifully equipped with extra special features such as sauna , cinema room , Sonos sound system and a well equipped kitchen /diner. Stunning position and not too far from the amenities of Tarbert.

Absolutely Fantastic Accomodation
What a gem of a house. Located in beautiful countryside over looking a loch. Stunning. House equipped with everything you would need whilst on holiday. Especially loved the sauna and cinema room! Would throughly recommend this cottage.

Stunning, idyllic, relaxing, peaceful, 5* quality and so much more.
My partner and I visited Harris and stayed in Sonas Cottage for a week in May, for what turned out to be one of our best holidays ever. Harris and Lewis is the best of Scotland, turned up to 11 and we are so glad that we found it. You cannot imagine the beauty of the beaches, the friendly islanders, the mountains and scenery. Coupled with great places to eat and places to visit. Sonas Cottage was an absolute dream, so well appointed with great attention to detail. The creature comforts, sauna, rainfall shower, house-wide music system and stunning views were nothing less than 5*. I must confess, we had such amazing weather, we never got chance to try the cinema room.. We have always visited north-west Scotland every other year, but so blown away were we with Harris and Sonas Cottage, that we are looking to re-book next year,

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location
Sonas cottage is amazing; the perfect retreat after a day exploring the stunning Isle of Harris. It is immaculately clean, fresh and warm. With a great sauna, superb cinema room and a bath that you just want to soak in for hours. Angus, the owner, is really helpful and responsive. We will definitely come back again to enjoy the cottage and Harris.

This dramatic and picturesque island has many places to explore. From the majestic North Harris hills with their spectacular scenery and wonderful wildlife to its many breath-taking beaches.
Offshore, smaller, uninhabited islands may also be accessed, such as the iconic St Kilda, a World Heritage Site with some of the most amazing vistas to be seen anywhere in the world.
The rich cultural heritage of Harris can be seen in its archaeology sites such as St. Clements Church in Rodel, the chapel ruins at Northton, and its standing stones to name but a few.
The living culture of the Isle of Harris can be sampled in the Gaelic language, in music and in song.
This place is truly somewhere special, and the best way to discover how special it is, is to come and experience it for yourself.
