Great location, Huisinish beach just a few miles down the road. Lovely welcome basket on Arrival, Nice to have the open fire for a miserable night. Would return in the future.

We loved this house. On arrival, some cake and dog treats awaited us. The kitchen has absolutely everything, and it is in perfect knick. Very helpful having a washer and dryer in the house, and the little touches - torches, bug spray, the binoculars for bird watching, and the fenced in garden for dogs - was just that little bit...

Great location. Cottage very well equipped and well kept. Owners always responded quick to emails and always friendly and helpful. Gorgeous view with a fully enclosed gardens to keep the dogs in and sheep out.

The Isle of Harris has incredible diversity in its landscape. You will notice a stark contrast between the rugged, mountainous terrain in the North, the East coasts dramatic, rocky landscape and the numerous unspoilt golden beaches and fertile machair soil on the West coast.<BR><BR>Harris has the highest density of golden eagles in Europe and the 2 kilometre walk to the observatory located in Glen Meavag which is home to a nesting pair, is only a 15 minute drive from the accommodation. <BR><BR>For keen fishermen & sportsmen, the Amhuinnsuidhe Castle estate is within walking distance of the house and offers some of the best salmon and sea trout fishing in Britain as well as excellent stalking and rough shooting.<BR><BR>Now owned by the National Trus... more

By Air - Flights from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen come in and out of Stornoway airport, which is an hours drive away from the house. <BR><BR>By Sea - Ferries arrive into Harris from Skye (into Tarbert - 30 minutes drive away) and from North Uist (into Leverburgh - 1 hour 10 mins drive away).<BR>There are also ferries from Ullapool (into Stornoway - 1 hours drive away). <BR>Click here for Timetables/ price<BR><BR>By Car - From the A859 (Stornoway to Tarbert) take the B887 to Hushinish.
