Had a lovely stay at Grandfathers House. It is in a great location with easy walking to lovely beaches, a fantastic café and a self service shop. There is a shop about 5 minutes drive away which stocks everything you would need and there is also a restaurant a mile or so futher on from the shop. The owners Suzan...

Enjoyed a great week in this snug litte place, just ideal for a couple who want to get away from it all. Well located for most of the great beaches this island has to offer and remote enough to enjoy some real peace and quiet in a great location. With the best of both worlds right on your doorstep its...

We've just had a wonderful week in Harris staying at Grandfather's House. It is a lovely cottage in a peaceful situation close to some fantastic beaches. On many occasions we were the only people on the beach! The location of the cottage makes it an ideal place for exploring Harris and perfect for a trip to St Kilda from nearby...

About the neighbourhood
The cottages cluster opposite a seafood joint; Julie and Steve are happy to deliver their home made fresh seafood meals piping hot to the cottage. Gail and Ruben from the Temple Cafe at Northton serve lovely coffee and teas and are known for their excellent home baking. All great after a good walk to the Temple, up the hills, or a day out swimming or playing at one of the four Norhton beaches or spectacular Scarista beach and estuary opposite the cottages. It is a 5 min walk to Northton beach 1, walk further towards beach 2,3,4, and 5 and the Temple ruin or walk from the cottage over the vast expanse of Scarista beach to ocean's edge.
