A £25 electricity allowance is included in your weekly rental. Electricity usage over the allowance will be deducted from deposit. At present there is a 30GB per month allowance for broadband. Unfortunately Hebnet ( our internet provider) does not offer an unlimited package, therefore, Streaming, Downloading, Uploading etc very quickly uses up the allowance. If it is an absolute necessity for your requirements then I can certainly purchase more for you and this can be deducted from your deposit.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic Hebridean hideaway.
Lovely, cosy house, everything you could wish for is here… A wonderful view and Donald and Fiona are delightul and very kind and helpful. So much to do even though the weather was variable. A great musical evening in the Harris Hotel etc, etc. Even managed a couple of swims.

Thank you Lesley. It was lovely to meet you and the family. The weather was not the best but quite nice to watch the wild sea from the picture window. We look forward to welcoming you back ☺️ Fiona and Donald

Delightful stay at Cluer
This was our first visit to the Hebrides. The cottage is situated close to the sea perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. We loved the window seat in the living room, big enough for two adults to sit and scan the sea for otters and seals. Any sighting prompted an excited dash with camera and binoculars to the waters edge for a closer view. One baby otter came so close we could hear it breathing as it swam and called for its mum that swam nearby too. There were sightings of peregrine falconers also from that window. We climbed the highest mountain on Harris and our exhaustion was rewarded by panaromic views over all the islands. We saw eagles there and on the mountains by the Eagle observatory. The scenery was astonishingly beautiful. Wilderness rocks and large peat lochs interspersed with long blue sea inlets, backed by grassy banked mountains. White sandy beaches completed the paradise especially on sunny days. At night we would return footsore to the cottage and light the coal fire to relax in front of. There was even a piano to play. The kitchen had everything needed to cook dinner, pudding and cakes. It was a wonderful week in an out of this world place. Absolutely unforgettable.

Perfect winter getaway
We absolutely loved our winter stay in Cluer Cottage. We had every type of weather from snow to storms to sun - and the house was perfectly positioned for all of them. Warm, cosy and sheltered when it was wild, but the perfect place to get out and about when weather allows. We loved walking around the area and exploring the coast line and some of the walks in land. In Particular we really enjoyed the scholars path from stockinish, and then up and over grosecleit The house has everything you could need. The picture window in the living room makes it and it's easy to lose an afternoon looking out at the sea. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent Cottage; Spectacular Location
Remote, wild, rugged setting, perched on rocks overlooking the sea, but only a short drive to Tarbert for foodstore and hotels. We did a week's shopping on arrival in Stornoway, where there is an excellent Tesco, so we did not use the local shop much. The Harris Hotel in Tarbert is a good place to eat. The cottage is well equipped, with all the amenities and comforts we needed, including satellite TV, good broadband and free use of landline, which thanks to wifi calling, we didn't use. We had a few wild stormy days and found the more sheltered back door best to use. Other days were gloriously sunny and some of the beaches are the best and most spectacular we have ever come across, with amazing dunes, blue sea and a wonderful backdrop of mountains. We especially liked the one just north of Scarista House, on the west coast. Our host's written directions to the nearest recycling centre lacked sufficient detail, so we took our recycling to the big one just east of Tarbert. Overall, a tremendous week.

Wonderful relaxing stay
Our party of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was extremely warming and spacious, we made use of the coal fire which took us all back to a time long since forgotten, we quickly relearned our fire starting skills.. Lol. The views and wildlife were stunning even though the weather and Midges made it a challenge. Would have no hesitation in heading back here in the future. Special thanks to Donald for his help and advice during our stay.

Idyllic Hebridean cozy cottage - everything you could want!
I cannot think of a better place to stay in the Hebrides. This cottage has everything - AMAZING views, comfortable rooms with a stunning sea view out of almost every one, wonderfully appointed and equipped, cozy, bigger than it looks, and precious LAMBS in the spring! A car is pretty essential, it is about 15 mins to Tarbert by car. You cannot go wrong - this is the best Hebridean cottage I have ever stayed in, and Harris did not disappoint. Fiona is wonderful to interact with and she has thought of everything to make our stay brilliant. Will definitely stay here again.

Have stayed in several cottages in Outer Hebrides - this is one of the best, very family friendly, well appointed and i
We stayed as a family, lots of space and comfortable beds. Arrived in teeth of storm Freya great to find a warm and friendly atmosphere with open fires and lovely views. Everything works, kitchen well appointed. Great views to Skye and local walks around the rocky coastline. Very enjoyable and relaxing - a great base to explore the islands
