Situated on a hillside of the Ross of Mull to the south of the island, Beach House offers uninterrupted views across Loch Scridain to the 3,000-foot Ben More mountain – the tallest on the island. Deer are frequently spotted around the house and the shoreline boasts a family of otters, with seals and even the occasional sea eagle being spotted high above, floating on rising summer thermals.

Beach House ('be-ach' being a Gaelic word for Bee rather than a sandy shoreline) is generously proportioned. It boasts one of the most spectacular views on the Isle of Mull and is undoubtedly a holiday hotspot for people with a love of wildlife, breathtaking scenery and...

Had a fantastic stay, in a great property. Highly recommended. We were on Mull for the rally and this was an oasis of calm in the hectic schedule we had. Plenty of space and really well appointed it suited us well, and plenty of wildlife (dodging the stags driving up the access road was fun!) The only downside was the...

The beach house is set in a beautiful location overlooking a sea loch, where sitting in the back garden, we seen buzzards landing in the trees. Fishing right on your doorstep, Iona ferry was about a 15 minute drive. Just over an hour to tobermory. The house is well kept, quite pricey for 1 week, but split between 8 fishermen,...

Management response:

Thanks for the review. Hope you'll come again. If you do, let me know and I'll do something about that price for you ... Cheers Ralph

The house was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. It was a good base from which to explore Mull and Iona. We saw a great variety of wildlife near the house, particularly in the evenings. The only challenge was the driveway up to the house from the road. It's steep, bendy and, in some places, very long grass growing in the...

Management response:

Thanks for the review. It's true it's a steep road to the property. But I have managed to get a my little mx5 up there in the past. Anything bigger than that and you're sorted :)

About the neighbourhood
The Isle of Mull has much to offer. The largest town on Mull is Tobermory, more recently made famous by the children's programme “Balamory”. Here you will find restaurants, deli/bakery, pottery, chocolate shop, distillery, supermarket and much more. Across Mull are other enjoyable eateries offering a range of food choices. Nearby in Bunessan there is a shop for re-stocking self-catering supplies as well as a hotel offering meals. Fionnphort is where you can catch a ferry on frequent crossings to the Island of Iona and the Keel Row pub back on Mull has a good choice of bar or restaurant service. Iona also sports a number of good eateries. As well as a number of places to eat, Craignure now offers a swimming pool, the first on the Island and a great resource for letting kids expend some... more

There are two alternate routes onto the island via the Lochaline – Fishnish or Kilchoan – Tobermory crossings also run by CalMac.
