Abernant House is perfectly situated next to the river Wye and its tributary the Nant stream. The property was formerly owned by Lord Caccia who was in the diplomatic service from the 1930's in China, Vienna and other areas and British Ambassador in Washington, USA in the 1960's.

The original house is probably 18th Century but it was greatly extended and altered in the 1930's to provide a substantial country property with spacious reception rooms including a beautifully proportioned drawing room and a wood panelled TV room. in recent years it has been updated with a large kitchen and new bathrooms.

The large open plan kitchen and dining room with its large Aga at the centre of the house is warm and inviting and great for entertaining. French windows lead directly out to the garden.

This place is amazing ! We just got back from here as a family group of 13 celebrating a 60th birthday. It is like staying in a National Trust home ! Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Highly recommended and would love to visit again ♡♡ Thankyou...More

 Take the A470 towards Brecon/Hay on Wye approx 3 miles
 You will pass a small sign pointing to Chapel House which is on the right
 Blue village sign ‘Abernant’
 The road then narrows and bends to the right, farm buildings on the right.
 Slow down as you are approaching Abernant House which is on the left
(This is the back view of the house)
 There is a small square cottage on the right – Abernant Cottage – and a
high stone wall on the left (our walled garden).
 Turn left onto gravelled area immediately before the house.
