The holiday cottage is situated overlooking the moat of Newtimber Place, a beautiful 17th Century manor house within the South Downs National Park. You can search for Newtimber Place and you will find all about it and about all our cottages. It has extensive views of the Downs and is in a rural location, yet is within easy reach of Brighton and Hove (8 miles). Children and Walkers and cyclists welcome. Weekend/midweek breaks available during the winter and you can book on-line on our website. The cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms - one king and one twin. It is available for booking for full weeks for holidays during the summer, and also for short breaks during the winter. The cottage is on one level with underfloor heating, the heat being drawn from the adjoining field by a heat pump. Each has its own table and chairs under a pegoda. The garden is fenced, but small children would have to be supervised as there is deep water the other side of the fence. It was been awarded 4 Star Gold by the AA for 2018. The cottage was originally the stables.The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room (no WC); the twin bedroom has an adjoining bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is a fully fitted kitchen with the usual appliances including freezer, microwave, washer/dryer machine and dishwasher. There is parking for 2 cars and 2 cycle-racks (not covered).More

From the gardens of Wakehurst Place, to the historic buildings like The Royal Pavilion in Brighton; from the walks along the South Downs to a trip on the old Bluebell Railway; from the seaside to the boats at the Brighton Marina, Sussex has something to offer everyone.The cottage is within the South Downs National Park. There are lots of rural walks nearby, yet it has the advantage of being within 9 miles of the coast and Brighton and Hove with all the amenities a city can offer. You can easily have a day trip to London.
