We stayed for 4 nights as a short honeymoon. It was a great spot to explore Pembrokeshire, and we wanted to stay somewhere a bit different than our usual B&Bs or self-catering. When we arrived Miranda came to greet us and familiarise us with the...More

This shepherd's hut was the ideal get-away. It's 'back to basics' but in the easiest, most luxurious, way, and there's clearly been a lot of care and attention to detail put into it. We found the hut itself, with it's wood-burning stove, bubbling stream and...More

About the neighbourhood
Rebecca the Shepherd's Hut is situated in the heart of the Preselis, whose hills stretch from Crymych to Dinas, and whose highest peaks measure 1758 ft, making them officially mountains. The area is pleasingly remote and unspoilt, with much common land (as opposed to heavily farmed areas). There is excellent walking to be done in these hills, and we provide maps of some of the walks you can do. With a mountain bike you can also cycle here using specific routes (www.newportbikehire.com). There are stone circles, standing stones, an iron age fort and many other points of interest in and around these hills: the bluestones of Stonehenge came from Carn Meini, an easy walk from Rebecca. If you google Preselis you will find plenty of interesting information specifically of this area.

Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Cardiff: 130.0 km
Railway: Clunderwen: 14.0 km
Ferry: Fishguard: 18.0 km
Rebecca is easily reached by car on the M4 or A40 from the east and the A487 from the north. Two ferries daily link Rosslare in Ireland to Fishguard, just 18kms from Rebecca.

For those wishing to be car free we are happy to meet the train from Clunderwen and help with shopping etc.

We are not well served by buses: a bus called the Green Dragon runs for those wishing to walk/explore the Preseli Hills during the high holiday season but doesn't do regular runs.

Cardiff is the nearest airport. You can hire a car here.

There Is A Golf Course Within 30 Mins Drive, Horse Riding Nearby, Nearest Beach: 17.0 km.
