About the neighbourhood
The best thing about our location is the Beach!
We're located in Los Corales, a gated residential community that offers direct access to Los Corales Beach. Access to the beach itself is free of charge, but the beach attendants charge $10 USD per day for 2 dedicated lounges and a palapa.Once on the beach (1-2 minutes walk from The SANCTUARY), you can walk for miles in either direction, enjoy the warm turquoise-blue water of the Caribbean Sea, take in the sun, have lunch or dinner, visit local artisan shops or take advantage of water sports like parasailing, banana boats, fishing, and party cruises.
Just outside the gates of Los Corales you'll experience more of the local Dominican culture while still being in a predominantly tourist area.
Getting around
The most convenient way to get around in our local area is on foot! You can walk to the Beach, numerous International restaurants, grocery markets, shops, the pharmacy, money exchange, the bakery, etc.
To venture out and experience more of the area, you can ride the back of a moto-taxi (not recommended!), take a taxi, catch the local bus (40 pesos per person = .80 USD), or rent a car or scooter.
Within 15 minutes drive you can reach many other fine restaurants, two shopping malls, 2-3 supermarkets, the movie theater, banks/ATM, tourist attractions, as well as neighboring beaches and beach clubs.
