Oaksey has a lovely pub, a grade I listed church that dates back to the 13th century, and a small village shop and post office. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the lovely market towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury are close by, as is the Cotswold Water Park, where a wide range of activities can be enjoyed. The cottage was newly renovated, spotlessly clean. WiFi worked always. Kitchen was perfectly stuffed with a little welcome package. As might be expected in an original cottage the ceilings are quite low and the stairs quite steep especially to the attic. The bathroom was good...More

“Thank you for your lovely comments; we’re glad to hear you enjoyed your time at the cottage. The ceiling height in the bathroom is quite low, which means the shower itself does have some restricted height, but with these older cottages, it’s difficult to find...More

This is a very well furnished holiday rental in a delightful quiet village with the very good Wheatsheaf pub restaurant 50m away. Parking is easy, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunny courtyard garden. Our stay was all too short, but we will be...More

About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
