    Penguins use to nest in the garden near the barbecue until caracals (local lynx) feasted.on them.
    Before the caracals, penguins on the rocks below The Milestone were a common sight.
    Hopefully penguins will return to The Milestone as 2 caracals were caught & relocated to Hout Bay.
    Dassies (Hyrax) were all over the garden & rocks below The Milestone before the caracal visits.

    This is a beautiful and almost secret place only about 2km west of Simons Town, with its own garden reaching down to the sea; its location makes it convenient not only for visiting central Cape Town via the most scenic routes, eg Chapman's Peak Drive or the M3 through the best suburbs, but enables you to visit the wine areas...

    The house has simply the most stunning location...the view is breathtaking. Access is directly from the sloping garden onto the rocks. Swimming possible in front if the house but a little challenging and depends on the sea state. Very close to Fisherman's Beach ( can be very windy) and a 10 to 15 min walk / 2 minute drive to...

    The Milestone has an idyllic setting, right on the rocks near the Boulders. Rooms have wonderful views, and the constant sound of the sea is soothing and relaxing. The house is spotless and well equipped, ideal for a break and well positioned for seeing and swimming with the penguins at Boulders Beach, visiting quaint Simon's Town, and driving to Cape...
