One of the most stunning places to visit in Mani is the charming town of Kardamyli, situated on the southern part of Peloponnese. The town is a perfect example of the unique Peloponnesian scenery that combines seaside beauty with mountainous majesty. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Kardamyli, one cannot miss the Old & Upper Town, a fortified settlement of well-preserved tower-houses that are some of the finest examples of Maniot architecture. Additionally, another must-visit in the area is the Patrick Leigh Fermor’s house (1.5km), the well-known travel writer.
