Waterloo House is a luxurious highland lodge nestled on the hillside within Baddidarrach, overlooking the small fishing village of Lochinver. Fantastic location and view of the mountains and harbour - the view of Suilven and Canisp, etc from the living room window is stunning, I defy anyone to find a better view on the West coast. You never get fed up looking out the feature window and posted photos don’t do it justice. The house is equipped with everything you could need including a good set of binoculars. Lochinver is a five minute drive away. There were deer in the garden most days. I especially liked how private, peaceful and quiet it was, the perfect place to chill out.

Great experience.
Waterloo house is an amazing location to be at. Everything was clean. It was lovely looking out at the view of suilven. Great accommodation to stay for two families. We loved are stay. Lochinva was a cute village to be in.

Fabulous highland getaway
Amazing house. Very clean with everything you need and more. Everything is to a high modern standard but all very in keeping with the feel of a lodge retreat. Got tub is great and the view of the stars at night, if there are no clouds, is mesmerising.
Ben was on hand for any questions and generally was an outstanding host from start to finish.
Great local butcher and pie shop.
There’s fuel nearby and a soar. Don’t expect to get everything you would at your local super market but you’ll not go hungry.

Fantastic stay
We have been coming to this part of highlands for 19 years now and stayed at various locations(Nedd,Clashnese,Badnaban, Lochinver included,etc)We have always thought we won’t find anything better than the one we’ve just been to until now!The house is spotlessly clean,beautiful,well equipped,the beds and sofas are the most comfortable we have ever had,the views are stunning,the hot tub a massive bonus...I could go on and on.But the biggest bonus for us was outside hose pipe.We go paddle boarding and snorkelling whilst up there and to be able to clean our equipment thoroughly is a must for us(and the bit we have always struggled with)Thanks to the outdoor tap this was no longer an issue. Our only regret was that we couldn’t quite enjoy it with people we initially booked it with due to Covid restrictions but I guess we will just have to return.Ben has done a fantastic job in ensuring the place offers everything you need when you want to enjoy your holiday.I highly recommend the house to anyone who is planning on exploring the area!

Stunning!!
Absolutely gorgeous lodge.
I do not think that Ben could provide anything more - slow cooker, light bulbs, batteries, washing powder, coffee, the list goes on and on! All the things that you might need but don’t know it. The welcome basket was lovely, the coffee was very tasty (I brought my cafetière - there was already one there and a coffee maker! I ordered a coffee maker for when I got home)
The place was spotless, sofas and beds very comfortable. I honestly can not find a fault if I tried.
I had a slight issue with the hot tub and Ben came to sort it straight away without being intrusive.
The view is gorgeous some nights we sat without the tv and watched the changing scenery with the fire crackling away.
The town of Lochinver is lovely. Special mention for the pie shop Lochinver larder - very nice. The spar has all the essentials and more. Also a wee walk down the hill and the kids played in the park or climbed along the rocks at the shore. Kept them and the dog happy.
The local beaches are stunning and Culag Woods were brilliant with the wee secret beaches. The water was crystal clear.
I will definitely be back and will be recommending Waterloo House to anyone willing to listen. Such a very beautiful part of Scotland and really brought out the proud patriot in me.

2nd visit here. Fantastic house. Fully equipped. Clean, no expense spared on decor.
You will not be disappointed.
Plenty of Deer and Stag in garden daily.
Definitely recommend.

Fantastic holiday home
Our stay at Waterloo House was everything we wanted it to be. The house was furnished to a high standard and had everything we required. The views and hot tub are the highlights along with the Wildlife that visits every day. The house is a great location for exploring the area and is a ten minute drive from the famous Achmelvich beach. Highly recommend.

Fantastic house, amazing location
Waterloo House is special. We were in Europe for a month and it was our favorite accommodation. The house is really lovely and feels very spacious. It is beautifully appointed and as soon as you walk in you’ll feel like you are at home. Ben is really quick to respond to any questions. We couldn’t fault this place - the hot tub is fabulous and we even had deer in the front yard. All the appliances are of a high standard including the washing machine and dryer. Lochinver town is an easy 20 - 30 minute walk away and has a couple of small shops, a butcher and everything you will need for your stay. Waterloo House is highly recommended.

Highland Retreat
Excellent house .
Well equipped .
Ben was very helpful .
Great location and views .
Lochinver is a great place to be based in Assynt .
It will be better when the local pub reopens to give a bit more choice for food in the evening - although Peets in the village is first class .
Would recommend Waterloo House and love to revisit .

Ideal for a relaxing holiday.
Beautiful property - well presented with every possible modern convenience. Set in an extremely scenic location.
The large hot tub proved an excellent addition.

Lochinver village is within an area known as Assynt, Assynt is within the county of Sutherland.
Lochinver has a fantastic range of places and, venues to dine out too.
Thankfully, the nearest McDonald Restaurant is over two hours away in Inverness.
