Howdy, welcome to The Hunter's Lair located in the West Elk Mountains and heart of some of Colorado's best hunting, fishing, hiking, and scenery around. Located in the small town of Crawford Colorado, The Hunter's Lair, a large modern 4-bed cabin has two queen beds, two twin beds, and a rollaway available upon request.
Having a well-stocked kitchen, you may choose to prepare your own meal or go out to one of our local restaurants within easy walking distance or you may decide to have Tammy and Gary prepare one of their tasty home cooked meals at a very reasonable fee.

Unique experience for a great stay
Unique cabin with more ammeneties than your would normally find in a place to stay. Go just for the experience.

Booked 1 Night, Stayed 5!
Very comfortable and plenty of space. Well stocked kitchen. Considerate added touches. Very clean. Much nicer than a standard hunting cabin, more like a small house with hunting decor and trophies. The hosts were spectacular! Extremely friendly and helpful, but never invasive.

A Secret Gem Undiscovered In The Heart Of Sportsmen's Country
I stayed in the Hunter's Lair on several occasions while hunting and fishing in the area. It's a little undiscovered gem in the heart of Sportsmen's country. There is excellent hunting and fishing all around. The owners Gary and Tammy Broughton go out of there way to make you feel comfortable and go the extra yard if you'd like a home cooked meal or need advice on where to hunt and fish. The cabin is really cute, cozy and has easy access. You'll find it's quite a bargain.

Great Place
Super comfy and convenient. Had a kitchenette, tv/sat. Wifi, and great location. Hosts were super amazing. As the name indicates, this is a Hunter's Lair, lots of trophies and pictures. My daughter loved it. Will definitely be booking there again.

Home away from home!
The Hunter's Lair was perfect for our family vacation. It's decorated in a rustic hunting theme which was great for our outdoorsy family. It was well stocked with breakfast foods, fruit, snacks and various beverages. We were even visited by several bear each night during our stay. The owners live next door and we couldn't have asked for a better Host & Hostess. The Crawford area is beautiful and we say plenty of wildlife. We definitely plan to return there.

RELAXATION!!!
My husband and I visited Crawford, CO near Blue Mesa Reservoir. If you are looking for a quaint place to stay, The Hunters Lair is the place for you!
The Lair is decorated in beautiful rustic but has all the amenities of home!! See posted pics!!
Comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, full size kitchen and all things needed to prepare a meal! (If not, Crawford has a fun restaurant/bar a block away. We had a great time there as well!).
Our hosts, Tammy and Gary are very welcoming and have the Hunter Lair set up to feel like you're getting away, but with a cozy, homey feel!
We'll be going back to beautiful Crawford, CO and The Hunters Lair!

Awesome place for a hunting trip!
This cabin was perfect for our 3 person hunting trip. Plenty of space and comfortable beds. The full kitchen is perfect to bring your own meals rather than eating out every meal. Owners were friendly and accommodating and even came over to hear our hunting stories! Highly recommended!

About the neighbourhood
Crawford Colorado is one of Colorado's best kept secrets being secluded in the West Elk Mountains with a population of 390 with many working cattle ranches out skirting the town. Our crime is almost nil with many cattle drives coming right thru town in the spring and fall. With 1000's of acres of public land with numerous 4x4 roads and hiking trails. hunting and fishing is a big draw to our community with Crawford lake located 1 mile from the Lair holding 6 species of fish and is known to produce trophy pike in the spring and large catfish in the summer. if interested in fishing we have the gear for you to enjoy a day on the lake.
Getting around
Transportation is definitely needed in our area, we recommend a 4x4 vehicle to enjoy our back country to it's fullest but front wheel drive will work fine if not visiting the outlying areas.

The Hunter's Lair is Located in the town of Crawford within easy walking distance to our two restaurant's and our small downtown. Located 10 miles south of Hotchkiss Colorado with Montrose (MTJ) and Grand Junction (GJT) airports servicing our area being 50 and 70 miles away. The Lair is located at 318 cedar Ave in Crawford City Limits. You will find Crawford very relaxing, quiet and hardly any crime. The population of our small community is 390 and Elevation 6520.
