Casa Solana Yucatan is a modern home on the beach with two tastefully furnished rental apartments. The Vista Del Mar apartment is a bachelor-style suite with floor to ceiling views of the ocean. It is equipped with full kitchen facilities including a fridge and stove (with an oven), microwave, coffee pot, blender, toaster, dishes and pots and pans. The secured compound is completely walled and gated and has a large beautiful aqua-marine coloured pool. We are located right on the beautiful white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico and three blocks from the local town square.

Pool Hours: 8am - 10pm. No glass allowed on pool deck.
The oceanfront terrace is shared from 9am - 9pm and exclusively for Vista Del Mar guests from 9pm - 9am.
A/C is avail. for an additional $5/night. Please do not leave it on when you go out.
Please lock up valuables, keep the gates locked at night and bring outdoor furniture inside the gate when not in use.
Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.

Perfect Getaway
We stayed at Casa Solana for 2 glorious days and nights in July 2018. We stayed in the apartment facing the beach. Casa Solana is a beautiful retreat from the busy world. The apartment was perfect and the beach and views are stunning. You can cook your own meals or venture out to local restaurants. Thank you to our wonderful hosts Sonya and Jeff for making us feel at home. We hope to return again. I highly recommend this gem.

Beachfront... look no more! AMAZING
Sonia and Jeff’s house on the beach is lovely! We stayed a week, & it was the perfect launch pad to do our little road/day trips around Mérida and the peninsula. They were helpful in giving us trip/ itinerary ideas and directions/ maps. The suite is SO big, enough to have a dance party inside, with private FULL kitchen, bath (amazing shower no lack of hot water), and a king size bed with luxury sheets. Everything you need from A/C (ceiling and plug in fan if preferred), stove, microwave, everything you need to cook a full meal and more! WiFi is strong. If you love dogs, they have so many great dogs that will keep you loved and busy, if you want. From our room, all windows overlooked the beach and you can hear the waves all the time. I appreciated the hosts’ quick response on everything. Property is well maintained and cleaned. After 40 days of traveling through South America, this was, by far, the best place we rented.. and the perfect relaxing home to end our trip. Close enough (but secluded enough) to other towns. Grocery, restaurants and bars within walking distance if you just want to chill at the beach. Otherwise get a car and explore like we did...Progresso 20 min drive, DT Mérida 40 Min Drive... you never have to leave this place. You can swim all day! Safe and quiet... you won’t find better. Thanks Jeff and Sonia for everything. We will be back next year:)

Perfect vacation, ideal location!
Our recent stay at Casa Solana was one of best vacations ever! Upon arrival, Sonya met us, showed us to our room right on the beach - light, bright and comfortable, with the best view! Every morning we woke to a beautiful sunrise, swam in the gulf every day, gazed at the sunset every evening. We took advantage of a fully equipped kitchen, bought some groceries in Progreso or ate out locally. It was nice to have that choice. Sonya and Jeff are a wealth of local info and had lots of suggestions for where to eat, what to see, things to do. Their dogs are fun and so well behaved. The local people are super friendly, so many are fishermen. All in all, our week was near perfect - relaxing, adventurous, experienced a new place that we fell in love with. We do suggest renting a car if you can, it made getting to Progreso and taking in the local sights much easier. Casa Solana is a sparkling jewel on a beautiful beach. We're already talking about when we can go back!

It was our first 10 day vacation, and we enjoyed every minute of it! Waking up to breathtaking amazing views was something really special!

Best of the best
Casa Solana was the best choice! We are looking to move to the Yucatan peninsula and came to scout the area. Jeff and Sonya were not just wonderful hosts, but their honesty in answering all of our questions about owning a place on the water were extremely helpful. They have a beautiful setting right on the beach, we stayed on the one overlooking the ocean. It is impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and it has everything in the kitchen that you would need to fix a gourmet meal. They are both friendly, and take great care of both their property and guests. All that said, best of all was having their dogs to play with, but they asked first if we were OK having them around.

Studio face à la mer, parfait!
Emplacement parfait, tout juste sur la plage. On y entend les vagues la nuit, vu de la mer directement de la chambre. Studio spacieux et confortable, avec cuisinette, piscine et toutes les commodités.
Le villages est calme et sans touriste. Les restaurants ferment tres tot,
Sonya a été une hôte parfaite, nous accueillant avec une bouteille de vin. Vraiment top.

Beautiful apartment on the beach with everything you need or a stress free vacation
I recently had the opportunity to return to Casa Solana for my second visit. The suite was as beautiful as it was the last time I was there but it was the addition of a new kitchen that made it feel like my home away from home. Sonya & Jeff go out of their way to do what they can to make sure you have the best trip possible....not many places welcome you with a bottle of wine and the fixings for your first mornings coffee.
Casa Solana is really the best of both worlds. You can lounge by the pool or enjoy the white sand beach which is perfect for swimming or spending hours beach combing for shells like I did. The town square is a 5 minute walk; from there you can catch the local bus (well actually they're vans) to Progreso or Chelem. I was surprised how easy it was to navigate around given the fact that I don't speak Spanish and they didn't speak any English. For less than $1 its a quick trip to Progreso where I found pretty much everything I needed.
There are plenty of places to eat in Progreso and Chelem; best of all the price of food definitely helped keep the costs down for the trip. On weekend evenings I highly recommend going to the town square in Chuburna to eat at the street vendors. We had Panuchos and a coke for 3 people & it cost us around $10. You also might want to keep an ear open for the ice cream truck that delivers the best ice cream you will ever eat right to your door.
There are so many things to do in the area. I loved swimming in the cenotes and was amazed to see the hundreds of flamingos hanging out in the crystal salt beds. I highly recommend Uxmal....it is the same size at Chichen Itza but way less crowds and no annoying vendors. Sonya & Jeff were knowledgeable and extremely helpful whenever I decided to go out exploring the beauty of the Yucatan.
But I still haven't mentioned the best part.....Solana, Pavo and Feby....even if you're not a dog person you will loved their dogs. Well trained and ready to play; they clearly love welcoming visitors to their home. Sonya & Jeff have it set up so you can have privacy if you're not a dog fan but if you're like me they just might be the reason you want to go back.
