Our first sight of Lovejoy Cottage, late on a cold night in January was absolutely enchanting, with snow sparkling beneath the Christmas lights of Elm Tree Square. In its picturesque setting, facing the Elm Tree Inn across the old square, the cottage is ideally placed, with convenient parking and in easy reach of the village shop, bus stops and railway...

We welcome anyone who wishes a short break and we can usually arrange the key collection change over to suit your days.

Minimum booking period is usually 3 nights and 4 nights in the Christmas New Year season but we will try to be flexible to accommodate your wishes if we can.

You can book and pay online without a quote however if you prefer please just submit a booking request and we can review it.
PRICES ARE FOR TWO GUESTS IN THE MASTERBED so if you book without a quote first and wish more than two people or seperate beds please note the following additional pricing per booking regardless of stay length :
As there are two rooms with maximum double beds, and two bathrooms, if you are a carer or require separate sleeping arrangements ( useful for any snoring couples) we do have the option to sleep one person in a single daybed whilst utilising the master bed for a supplement of £35 a week (or use for 3 people) and for 4 we can make that up as a double for £45 thus sleeping 2 coup...

About the neighbourhood
Skipton is a country market town, up in the Pennines, at the southern base of the Yorkshire Dales. It's a small, friendly town with a population of around 16,000. It has history, a castle, cobbled streets, ducks and canal boats. It's a pretty town to walk around, and gets thousands of visitors.

The name Skipton comes from the Saxon word for sheep - the town really began as a trading centre for sheep and wool. The canal came and went, the mills came, and now it's a big tourist centre for people passing through to see the Yorkshire Dales. The biggest employers in Skipton nowadays are HML and the Skipton Buiding Society. Formerly kingsley Cards was one of the main employers but has closed down and the mill converted to apartments.
