Bankfield House, is a large Edwardian House set in it's own grounds on the South Lakes Peninsula overlooking the shifting sands of the stunning Morecambe Bay. Allithwaite is a quaint village with an excellent pub, a train station, church, shop - all within walking distance of the house. Nearby we have Grange Over Sands which is an Edwardian holiday destination with duck pond, promenade and many interesting shops,including award winning butchers and bakery.There is also a Tesco , Spar and a Co-op.For the major supermarkets a 25min drive to Kendal is required. Cartmel is a mile away and is food lovers heaven with a double Michelin starred restaurant and lots of pubs in the medieval village square.The beautiful Priory dates back to 1190 and is well worth a visit,and do not forget the racecourse which is one of the lovliest settings in the country to watch National Hunt racing. By Car leave Junction 36 off the M6 and travel along the A591 towards Windermere, taking the A590 signposted to the Lake District Peninsulas.
