House Rental
Oceanfront 6 bed/4 bath home with panoramic ocean view on Cudjoe Key. Sleeps 12+. Beach, Floating Dock, Heated Pool, Kayaks and 540 square foot screened in porch overlooking the Atlantic ocean.
This house has been very popular with large groups. New memory foam mattresses in 2018.
Floating dock is great to fish and swim off of and it will accommodate boats up to 24'.

Can Book Correctly
I am very disappointed. I had the families all sold on this place and ready to go. Now I need to phone and say the dates you said were available are not as you didn't look at the dates.
Sorry, but I am not impressed.

Dad and Mom's 50th wedding anniversary and family reunion
This home was exactly as described and the perfect size for our party of 13. Six bedrooms allowed everyone there privacy. The open living space provided ample room to gather for meals and games in the evening. The pool had nice lounge chairs and room for all to enjoy together, the kayaks were nice and could be enjoyed right from the beach in front of the home. Located a little further from Key West than originally thought, 25 minutes, but still a good accommodation.

this property exceeded all of our expectations. 3 couples stayed a week in Jan. 2014.
Home is well maintained and very spacious. The 90 foot screened porch was fabulous. Two tables for 6 plus wicker couches and chairs. The kitchen is well stocked and roomy enough for several chefs. It was great to have 4 bathrooms, tons of towels, and washer and dryer. The pool is steps from the dock and the ocean. Sunrise was spectacular every morning. 3 bedrooms have direct access to the porch.
We went a few miles up the keys to Winn Dixie for supplies. There is a fresh sea food market right up the road from the house. Easy drive in to Key West.
Owner was helpful with any questions. It was the ultimate relaxing vacation and we will be back. maintenance person was there every morning. He was friendly and helped set up a fishing trip. No negatives with this property. We have stayed in Key West several times but this is the ultimate if you want your own pool, ( with numerous floating loungers) , ocean access, kayaks, and a beautiful spacious home.

What an awesome way, to celebrate my birthday!
This property was very clean, spacious and perfect for our large party. Every morning you would find me on the lanai, enjoying the Cudjoe Bay view, with my computer on my lap and a cup of coffee at my side.
The bedrooms were all comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of room for those who enjoyed cooking!
Tom the maintenance/pool man was a wealth of information! He answered all our questions and offered lots of suggestions as to where to go or what to do to.
If I had to say anything negative about this place it would be that they haven't yet figured out how to make time stand still. Shannon can you work on that?? :-)
Everyone in our large party agreed this was the perfect place for our gathering and they are all willing to do it again...

Absolutely perfect for a large family or group of friends
The house was clean and in good shape. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. The beach was gravel, and it was clean with no grass or sand. There were plenty of kayaks and snorkeling equipment as well as items for the pool. The hot tub was nice also. The caretaker stopped by each day and cleaned the pool and was helpful with questions about the area. This house would make a great vacation home for families with kids.

Excellent Family Experience
Pool overlooking Ocean (check), Sandy Beach (check), Hot tub (check), Dock for Fishing (check), Amazing Sunset and Sunrises (check!!!!!).
If those are on your checklist for your next family rental, this house is a MUST.
The nice part about CudJoe Key is that you're 15 miles away from Key West (but close enough to go for dinner), but further enough to relax and chill with the locals....
Loved this place, we'll be back!

Fabulous
The house was perfect for 10-12 adults. The large.screened in porch is a great place to relax and enjoy the view of the pool and ocean. Close enough to Duval street for fun and shopping. The hot tub and pool area is a great place to spend our evenings.

Great
Held a family reunion with 12 of us staying at the house. We had a wonderful time. Dock worked well for the pontoon boat we rented. Enjoyed cooling off in the pool. Best of all we enjoyed the large screen porch area. Had plenty of tables and chairs for all of us to sit and enjoy the view. House was equipped with everything we needed. We were close enough to Key West to sight see. We would come again!

Fabulous Location Excellent View & Porch-Minor Bug Problem Though
We enjoyed our stay. The dock is nice and we saw a barracuda, parrot fish, and a nurse shark. Loved Kayaks and snorkeling from beach. The best feature of this house is the porch. The kids enjoyed the pool, but it is very small. (smaller than it looks in the photos) The place was clean and had a well stocked kitchen for eating/cooking. There are some cosmetic issues but we didn't mind because the location is amazing. We lost access to one of the bedrooms because it became infested in the middle of the night with what we believe were termites. Contacted the manager and was told to close the bedroom up and make it dark, that it was all part of living in the tropics. I know a lot of people who live in the tropics and that is not true, but it is an old house. They did offer to come clean the room, but why bother when we can no longer use it? We had 2 teen girls staying in that bedroom that moved to couches in the living room:( This was the only thing we were not happy with about our stay. We felt like they could have at least offered something for the loss of the room. It is an older home and it may happen on occasion, but there are ways to avoid it or at least make it right.
We were not far from Key West or Bahia Honda and we enjoyed pizza and sandwiches from slice of paradise and dinner at mangrove mamas just over the bridge. I would recommend this for large families who care more about location and view than anything else.
BEWARE of young children around the faucets/bath because the water gets hot enough to scald very quickly! You have to take stairs to access this property.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Family Retreat. I am sorry you had that experience. As the owner of Walkabout Retreats we take all issues seriously. I was out of town the week of your stay. My manager told me she had Orkin, who has the pest control service contract for the Family Retreat there the next day to access the situation. Orkin said they were not termites but bugs that were attracted by light. There are French doors in that room that open outside and they might have been opened and the bugs came in because of the light. Orkin assured us there was no pest problem with the home. It is the tropics and unexpected things that we can not control can happen. The pool sizes are listed on our web site for all of our rentals. Thank you for your comments.
