Or if you want to sit back and let someone else do the captaining, take a swamp buggy tour of the Everglades.

After reading the nasty reviews on this house I was almost tempted not to stay their with my family. However, after speaking with the management company we decided to give it a try. The management company reassured me that the house was clean & safe for my family. That's exactly what it was. The home is gorgeous. Lots of parking which is hard to find in Marco. The dock is huge. Enough room for 2 large boats with direct access to the gulf. The master bedroom & bathroom are amazing with a large oversized shower. The house was loaded with extras. pool toys, a small boat, fishing gear, etc. The pool is a little small; however, the kids could careless just as long as they had some where to play. The people who wrote those bad reviews must be very unpleasant people to write such awful things about a house this gorgeous! I will go back and stay in this home when it is available.

Relaxing time once again in Marco
This property was not on the beach, but that proved to be nice since we simply biked there as we desired. The pool was perfect, beds slept well, and the house was clean when we arrived.

Not happy
Too many things either broke or in disrepair. Ants everywhere. Bedbugs in one room, had to seal it off. Ice dispenser on fridge didn't work. Several light switches broke or lights out. Shower had hair in it. Internet took a week to fix. A lot of promises from management with only internet being fixed. Overpriced for the property type and the amount of work it needs to bring it up to snuff. Location is it's only saving virtue. Won't be back there ever. The shower head in the main bath was out of reach to my wife as she's only 5'2". Ill conceived idea but looks good.

Problem child
Upon arrival and inspection found the refrigerator ice dispenser didn't work. Several of the light switches were broken and some of the lights didn't work at all. There were some cleanliness issues such as hair in the shower. There were no instructions on how A/C worked or that there were 2 units. There was no transmitter for the garage door so you had to go in the front and walk tot he garage and open the door regardless of weather conditions. There seemed to be some type of bug infestation in the one bedroom and we just sealed that one off after I was bitten a couple dozen times on my legs overnight. Internet service was horrible had to call them several times.This review was written by Robert Dayvault patriarch of the family and takes full responsibility for it.

I could get used to this!
Our compliments to the owners of this property. It's obvious that they have taken great care to continually update and maintain this slightly older property. Newer appliances, fixtures, floors, paint, beds, and much much more were evidence of their love for this place. We loved it as well. The outdoor pool/lanai area was wonderful in the morning for outdoor breakfasts and newspaper time and playing cards in the evening. The canal location was great for relaxing and a bit of fishing. Rented or owned, there will be a boat docked there next time we visit. The place had everything a family could possibly need. Our only problem was the condition when we arrived. Without going into great detail, it was not clean when we arrived. The kind of "not clean" that you might expect if any Florida house had sat vacant for some time. To the defense of the management company, we did make reservations spur of the moment, less than a week before arriving. To the great credit of the management company, they had a cleaning crew there within 15 minutes of our notifying them upon arrival on a Sunday. So after the initial two hour glitch...we had a wonderful week in a wonderful place. We're already talking about next year.
