About the neighbourhood
Tidelands Boathouse is located in the village of Combeinteignhead and there are a variety of coastal beaches within 5-10 minutes drive, including the sandy beach of Shaldon, perched on the mouth of the estuary just two miles away. From Shaldon a regular ferry runs all year round across the Teign Estuary to Teignmouth, where you will find a lively seaside town bursting with cafes, bars, restaurants and attractions. At Christmas there are many local markets and fairs including the Totnes Christmas market which attracts over 30,000 visitors. For serious Christmas shopping you need go no further than Exeter with the fabulous Princesshay centre and the brand new John Lewis department store right in the centre.
Getting around
Newton Abbot and Teignmouth train stations are just 2 miles away and it is an easy walk to the beach at Shaldon. You can hop on the ferry from Shaldon beach to Teignmouth to take in the sights.
