Long awaited family vacation
This vacation home had everything thing u need for a
Family vacation. There were 9 of us for one week,
And we had a wonderful time. Great dinners
From the wonderful gas grill. Great seafood
Places right in Destin. Great resturants close by
The home is decorated perfect for an ocean home!!
The weather was sunny, but a little chilly for
Swimming in the beautiful pool. The jacuzzi was very
Relaxing. I would rent this beautiful vacation home
again in a heart beat!!

Fantastic Family Vaca
We loved the house, the pool, the spa, and the bay. The spa is super-sized and was a bonus! The house is spacious and well decorated. The beach is a few miles away, everything was perfect. We rented Wave Runners for a day in the bay, went to the beach, played at the pool. We had a very relaxing time.
The owners are really nice people and were easy to work with.
The only draw back is that the house shares a pool with the house next door. We would have preferred a private pool. The plus is that if you have a really large group or multiple families, you can rent both and be together.

Past my expectations.
We brought the family down from Nebraska on Dec. 28, 2013, to celebrate the holidays with our son who is in the us air Force and stationed there. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon in the rain, and when we pulled in our four grown children (and families) could not believe where we were going to be staying. The pictures that we had seen on-line looked nice, but did not do the place justice. It was just beyond our expectations. We will diffently want to stay there again when the whole family comes back to Florida for future celebrations. Elizabeth and Tim were wonderful people to deal with, and we thank them for letting us enjoy the week at their home.

Great house, great location!
This house is terrific! We had 4 couples and 5 kids ages 2 months to 6 years old... we all stayed for an entire week and had a great time. There are enough bathrooms and bedrooms for everyone to have their own space and be comfortable. The bunk room was perfect for the older kids. The pool is AWESOME. All of the extra toys in the garage were a huge bonus. The dock provided entertainment at night for the fisherman of the group. We caught a stingray, blue fish, and crabs.
We cooked breakfast and dinner for our group every day. The kitchen worked out well. The extra fridge in the basement adds extra convenience. The dining table sat up to 8... this is the only thing I would have liked to have changed... a larger table to accommodate 12 but that is hard to find in a vacation rental.
The location of the house is great. Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Navarre Beach, and Destin were close enough for day trips and entertainment. Absolutely gorgeous beaches!
I would stay here again without question.

Perfect property
My extended family of 11 had an amazing time the last week of April. The sound was warm and calm, pool and hot tub very enjoyable. This house sets in a great location to visit many surrounding areas and attractions- when you wish to venture from the backyard! The owners were extremely attentive to all questions and concerns and helpful with suggestions on nearby activities. Our group ranged in age from 12-86... we had plenty of room and absolutely loved this home. Thank you Elizabeth and Tim for sharing your home!

Breathtaking
Perfect. My 4 children their spouses and grands came to meet us. 1 week was not enough. The small beach is just what we needed. The water was shallow and clear. No water shoes were needed. The fishing pier was great. We brought Kayaks and the house furnished kayaks. The play/game room was great.

About the neighbourhood
The Seahorse Retreat is located on the Santa Rosa Sound on the mainland. We love our location because .... if for some reason you want to venture away from all there is to do at our tropical paradise ... it's a quick drive to Navarre Beach (about 5 miles), where you can visit Gulf beaches, rent bikes and bike or walk along the Gulf Island National Seashore (beautiful beach and no homes) for quite a ways. Easy access to Destin and Fort Walton Beach, (where there are tons of activities) but without the traffic and crowds. There are numerous restaurants and groceries in the area; however, a car is necessary.

You will need a car to get to restaurants, Gulf beaches, grocery stores, but we are conveniently located to everything.
