We arrived a day before the hurricane hit, we lost power for a day and a half but it was fine. We sat around and played cards by candle light. Carl was very good about keeping in touch with us, and getting the power back on. We will be back next year and hopefully we can enjoy the fire pit...

Management response:

I can say you all are one of the best guests we have had at our cabin. In spite of the conditions from IRMA you still had a great time and never complained once and that helped as Esther and I had left our home in Florida to get away from the path of the approaching hurricane. We look forward...

My husband, our 3 year old daughter, and I vacation once a year and we had a blast! The cabin really is stocked well and has a great view. We picked apples at Mercier Orchards, rode horses at Trackrock Stables, caught rainbow trout at the Black Mountain Trout Ponds, and saw the falls at Vogel State Park. Next time, we'd...

Management response:

It sounds like you and your family packed more than two days in and glad you did. We love cooking the mountain trout on our grill there. Next visit I will tell you the best route to Helton Falls and also Jim's Smokin BBQ should be open for a real treat. Thank you for being our guests.

We had a wonderful experience at this cabin! Fully stocked with all the comforts of home. Was a great spot to stay so that we could enjoy all the area has to offer! The coffee pot is so nice that we just bought the same one when we got home! Carl was so attentive and available! We miss our Blairsville...

Management response:

Esther and I are so glad you chose our cabin for your vacation. We have always placed high quality items in our place and the coffee drip maker is the one you see used in many movies and television shows "we also have the same model at our home". Each piece has been hand selected from the sleeper sofa to...

About the neighbourhood
Surrounding area: There is much to see (if that is your thing) or to do (if that is your thing). This is a photographer's dream ... so many beautiful pictures to capture! We have seen the Dogwood season begin to open on the mountain, a red-headed woodpecker hammering out a meal, graceful deer leap across our path. Some of our previous guests seem to just enjoy staying around the cabin and either reading or hiking around the area.

You are only minutes from Vogel State Park, Brasstown Bald, Helton Creek Falls, and the Appalachian Trail. Hiking trails are close by, horseback riding at the Trackrock Stables, tubing at Pappy's and in Helen, digging for gold in Dahlonega, boating and fishing at Notelly Lake, shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall (woo hoo!), swimming at Vogel State Park...
Getting around
Our cabin is centrally located to all the natural resources in the area that one would desire to visit 'our prior guests words'. We are less than 10 miles from Vogel State Park, and the same from Brasstown Bald Mountain and many area waterfalls.
On the wall in our cabin is a large map called 'Backroads less Traveled' and it will list all of these and many others.
