Stockton Rise is set in a spectacular position overlooking farmland in the picturesque Lockyer Valley. Just one hour west of Brisbane and less than 11/2 hours from the Gold Coast, Stockton Rise is located 4 km south of the boutique village of Forest Hill and close to Laidley and Gatton townships. You can discover the delights of this rich agricultural area by taking a farm drive; visiting local markets or farm gate stalls to buy the freshest and best of Queensland produce. Alternatively, sit in comfort on the large deck or verandah of the retreat and watch over the day's activities from afar. There is much to do and you may just want to stay for a week or more to explore this very historical area or base yourself here whilst exploring nearby parts of South East Queensland. Interaction with guests
Before your stay at Stockton Rise, I will be in contact with you to discuss arrangements for the key. I like to come and meet my guests however, this is not always possible therefore it is good to have a rough idea of the time you would most likely be arriving. I can then make arrangements for you to be able to access the property. Due to our accommodation being self contained, we do not live onsite however we are available as we live close by for anything that may be needed throughout your stay. We are able to answer any questions you may have as to what to do in our area during your stay as well as information being in the accommodation.

About the neighbourhood
The immediate area is known as Glen Cairn. This was part of the original Cob & Co route with Glen Cairn Road being renamed after it was known as Old Toowoomba Road. Take a drive or a walk around the area, or read the history - there is much early history still to be found; from the old bridge on Sandy Creek to the billabongs where the horses were watered after a day's travel. There is an abundance of old Australiana farm implements at Stockton Rise - you are welcome to explore and relive history. The small nearby township of Forest Hill has some lovely eating places as well as a beautiful craft shop and butcher. There is no queuing at the Post Office where you can browse their beautiful gift selections or enjoy a meal here at Café 4342. A short drive away is the town of Laidley with a P...
Getting around
It is recommended that you have a car when visiting us. In the event though that you want to use public transport, there is a Translink bus that travels through Forest Hill that meets with the train at Rosewood. Visit the Translink website to check on timetables. This bus travels through the Lockyer Valley and can be used to travel to other centres.
