We offer a friendly, informal atmosphere and a high standard of accommodation. Children of all ages are welcome. All our bedrooms are en suite, with television and tea/coffee making facilities. Disabled accommodation is also available with wheelchair access from car park to bedroom (please see our Access statement ).. A full English breakfast, cooked in the Aga, is served in the dining room overlooking the delightful cottage garden. All food is home cooked by Sheila, using fresh local produce wherever possible. A welcoming tray of tea with home baked cakes is served in the lounge or the garden on your arrival. Guests are welcome to use the comfortable sitting room where you will find games, plenty of books, maps and local information to browse through. There is also a smaller lounge at the back of the house. Access Statement for Wick House The entrance from the road has one shallow step (100mm) up and two (50mm) down onto the verandah. From the verandah through the front door and into the hall is level. From the hallway, the sitting room and the bar are also on the same level. The main staircase is also accessed from the hall. Although the staircase has four turning steps and is quite narrow, we have fitted handrails on both sides for ease of access. The staircase narrows down to 700mm between the hand rails from 750mm at its widest.. The steps vary in depth from 180mm to 220mm There are eight guestrooms on this floor. Bedrooms 5 and 6 ha Stogumber is surrounded by footpaths through the local countryside, and only minutes away from the Quantock Hills, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, and Exmoor National Parks, where the landscape is rich in wildlife including herds or red deer and the famous Exmoor ponies. Buzzards soar overhead whilst foxes and badgers are frequently seen. With footpaths such as The Coleridge Way, The Samaritans Way and the Macmillan Way passing close to Wick House, we will take you to the start of your foray into this delightful part of the country and collect you at the end of the day, providing you with a delicious packed lunch if you wish. We will also transfer you luggage to your next B&B if you are doing a linear walk The interesting beaches at Doniford and Kilve, the ancient port of Watchet and the resort of Minehead are only a fifteen minute drive away, whilst The pack horse bridge at Allerford, Bossington Beach, Porlock, Lynton, Lynmouth and Woolacombe are within easy reach, as are Dunkery Beacon, Horner Woods, Winsford, Exford, Dulverton, Tarr Steps, Dunster Castle, Dunster medieval village and Dunster Yarn market, Selworthy, Cleeve Abbey Coleridge's cottage at Nether Stowey, Valley of the Rocks, Woody Bay and Oare Church in the Lorna Doone Country of Exmoor.
