Riverain is a Grade II listed sandstone barn conversion set within the grounds of Blencowe Hall
Riverain was the original carriage house barn and its reception room has the original carriage doors
Riverain has a private gated garden and private parking surrounded by a sandstone ha-ha wall
The welcoming Carriage reception room is equipped with broadband wifi, leather sofas and a log fire
The Kitchen has a Bosch gas hob, electric oven and Dishwasher

A stunning conversion of a coach house dating back to the 1700s gives Riverain its welcoming double height oak floored reception room with floor to ceiling arched windows. The massive sandstone fireplace is a focal point for cool Cumbrian evenings and a generous supply of logs as well as underfloor heating ensure guest comfort and relaxation.

Lovely cottage and great location. Could do with parasol in garden and cushions would be nice. We had a massive problem with flies while we were here and it drove us to distraction. Great holiday overall but bring fly spray and traps.

What a lovely cottage, well equipped, cozy, a perfect retreat for a few days away. Overlooking Blencowe Hall, fantastic to see such a sympathetic restoration of my old ancestral home........truly deserving of its multi award winning status. Would certainly recommendMore

About the neighbourhood
Riverain is located in Blencowe, near Greystoke. The closest lake is Ullswater, one of the deepest and the longest lake in the national park. It is surrounded mountains and there are great walks easily accessible from the Hall. The Boot and Shoe Pub in Greystoke is about 1.5 miles down the road and has a great atmosphere and excellent local food. There is also a village post office shop in Greystoke and a recently refurbished open heated swimming pool. Greystoke Castle and its 3000 acre estate is in Greystoke and the deer park of the Castle is open for public walks.

There is plenty of parking at Riverain which is surrounded by its own 30 acres of grounds and extensive gardens.
Getting around
Riverain is located a short drive from Penrith train station which is on the West Coast Main Line, the railway linking London to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh & Glasgow. The nearby villages offer wonderful walks and cycle rides with beautiful scenery. Ullswater ‘Steamers’ is an award winning environmentally accredited Lake District attraction celebrating over 150 years of operating cruises on England’s most beautiful lake. Operating one of the largest heritage vessel fleets in the world, offering visitors an experience they will never forget for 363 days a year. Cruises connect to some of the most famous and iconic walking routes in the National Park, with views of Wordsworth's Daffodils on the west shore in Spring.

From the South; leave the M6 and take the 3rd exit onto the A592
From the North; leave the M6 and take the 1st exit onto the A592
Stay in the left lane. At the mini roundabout take the 1st exit onto Haweswater Road.
Follow the road for approx. 0.8 miles (2 mins) through the industrial estate to the next T-junction / mini round about.
Turn left onto the B5288 (Newton Road). Follow for approx. 2.5 miles (4 mins).
After approx. 2.5 miles fork right (in front of The Clickham Inn public house) and follow Park View Road for approx. 1.6 miles (4 mins).
Drive into Blencowe village, over the small stone bridge and turn immediately left and then left again.
