We stayed this weekend for a birthday/catch up and honestly we couldn't believe we had found this place, it's just been amazing! Firstly Liz and her family were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble! From taking in our online food shop to baking cakes, picking us up from the train station. Then the cottage was phenomenal, such a...

Additional amenities & feature info
The Barn has been newly converted and is of a very high standard. Throughout it is geo thermally heated and is very light and cosy. The bedrooms pick up the history of the barn as a key coiners home with a Kings room, Stag room and Weavers room. Downstairs the living space is open plan and split level with its own dining area (seating 8 - 10) as well as sliding doors opening out on to a large decking area which overlooks a beautiful country garden with a small play area (including sand pit, climbing rock and a shared trampoline and wendy house). The patio doors next to the kitchen open onto a BBQ area and hot tub. We also have an 8 seater outside wooden round table and more graden chairs. The insides tell you more about the history with a Coiners poem, timeline map and a whiteboard t... more

About the neighbourhood
Coiners Barn is right in the middle of the Calderdale Way and Pennine Way. With both these walking links on our doorstep we are a perfect spot to stop over for a night or make us a base for visiting the local area.
Walkers are invited to explore Broadhead Clough Nature reserve, at the bottom of the field in front of Coiners Barn, or visit Stoodley Pike - the monument built to mark the end of the Crimean War (1856) which is less than 2 miles away. Perhaps you are indeed walking the Pennine Way (Britain's first National Trail, opened in 1965) and wish to stop off at Coiners Barn to rest the night. We also have great maps from Coiners Barn around Cragg Vale, taking in many of the Coiners haunts and our own Medieval Spa.Only an hours walk away and you can reach Hebden Bridge or Hardca...

We are a little bit different in our location and in how we cater for our guests. We want you to come to us with as little 'baggage' as possible. The little feet in our logo really are significant and so we'd like for you to get to us by foot. We have some safe parking nearby (15 minute flat walk) so there really is no excuse. Once you get to us you'll realise why! Don't worry we will help you to and from the barn on arrival and departure so you don't have to carry your bags to us.

Directions - For your sat nav it is best to put in my house (Bell House) post code HX7 5RU and the road name 'Heseltine Road', Cragg Vale. The Hinchliffe Arms Pub (HX7 5TA ) is very well signed posted and there is a little map I can send you that directs you from there....
