This was our second stay at Uva Blu. It is easy to compliment the unit. It is spacious and well furnished. It is also richly decorated. The location is out of the way of the hustle and bustle and yet close to restaurants, beaches and attractions. But, most importantly it boils down to the people who care for guests. Owner Peter is a calm, friendly and helpful presence. Lico as the resident caretaker is absolutely amazing. He does it all and is responsive beyond imagination. And does it all with a smile. Arrival at Uva Blu is like renewing with old friends. Checkout is a simple process and leaving is saying good-bye to friends. So sorry long winded. Hard to say it in a few words.

Paradise
My family spent two glorious weeks at Uva Blue.
The cabina was perhaps for our party of four persons. Close to local grocery and to the beach.
Well equipped kitchen, nice living space, great jungle location. Wake to the sounds of howler monkeys, paradise.

Walking, buses, taxis, bicycles (for rent right at the end of the street), or cars are all great options for getting around Playa Chiquita and the local area. Most locals use bicycles to get around as it is a very bicycle friendly area. If you want to get into town for the nightlife in Puerto Viejo, a taxi (~$8USD), bicycle, or bus (~$1USD) would be best.
While the town of Puerto Viejo is close by you will find everything you need to get by within Playa Chiquita (Grocery Store, Beach and Restaurants).Â

To get to Uva Blue Villas, you need to head South/East out of Puerto Viejo along the Hwy 256 along the coast. You will pass Cocles, and the Jaguar Sanctuary, and you are looking for El Duende Gourmet Grocery store on your right hand side (coming from Puerto Viejo). Once you turn right on the road adjacent to El Duende Gourmet grocery store, you can head about 150 meters passing Namuwoki Lodge and you will come to a blue Uva Blue Villa sign. Turn right, and we are at the end of the street (~50 meters).
