The double bedroom which is down stairs with an ensuite bathroom. Shower over bath.
Looking into bedroom from the ensuite. Sleep well in our peacefull surroundings.

An old painted, leaded window, set into the wall between lounge and top of stairs A sun catcher.  .
The upstairs galley kitchen, small but fully equiped, looking towards the west for the sunsets.
The dining room with a large vellox window overlooking a paddock with Gloucester old spot pigs.
The log burner at one end of the upstairs lounge which is the full width of the house.
The log burner  which makes for a very cosy,comfortable evening after an active sight seeing day.

Come to Farncombe Cottage for peace and tranquility with spectacular views over the open countryside of the Windrush Valley. We are the last house at the end of a private/no through road in Clapton on the Hill, nearly 700ft above sea level..

Farncombe Cottage forms the western wing of the owners home and is maintained to a very high standard. On the ground floor is the entrance porch with logs stored for the log burner in the winter months.Logs are charged for at the cost to us. Into the hall with the electric meters with trip switches, and book to record usage,- also charged at cost.We have economy 7 which means our electricity is cheaper over night for 6hours.
The large OFF PEAK radiator in the lounge and below meter cupboard in hall are both take in the heat over night and store for the day/evening. The double bedded...

We let Friday to Friday. Departure time 10am and arrival times 4pm to 6pm.Logs for the wood burner are charged at cost and the fire will be burning if it is the cold season when you arrive.Electricity for night storage radiators etc. is charged at cost also and these are kept on during the winter season and when really cold.The cottage is all electric apart from the fire.As I live next door I am on hand to help with any issues or to help in any way to make your stay with us memorable.I have a large travel cot but please bring all your baby linen. Otherwise all you will need to bring is your food. I put in a welcome pack of 6 of our free range eggs, milk, wine and flowers. We look forward to meeting you. We let weekly Friday to Friday 7nights, Friday to Monday=3nights. Monday to Friday =4nights NO alternatives.

Bourton-on-the-water has many attractions to suit all ages.2.5 miles away.<BR><BR>Birdland with its King Penguins great fun to watch especially at feeding times. The Model Village,The Cotswold Motoring Museum the home of BRUM. The model Railway, The Cotswold Perfumery, Dragon Fly maze. Plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.
You can pick up a picnic and walk to Lower Slaughter and onto Naunton and the Guitings. Horses are very evident in the landscape with riding schools and race horse training stables. Cheltenham and Stratford race courses are not far. Markets are popular, farmers and street. VIC in Bourton has all local information as do we. Please ask.

Clapton on the Hill is 2.5 miles from Bourton on the Water off the A429 or off the A40 from Oxford through Sherbourne and onto Clapton on a narrow road. On reaching Clapton drive into the village at the right side of the village green. At the church you will meet the No Through Road sign, turn right into this, down hill past the red telephone box to the end of the road ignoring our sign,Private road, no Turning and drive up our drive and park in the carpark.
