Home away from home
The 6 of us arrive Dec 28, it was very dark and finding the location was kinda tough. But with a GPS we finally found this Oasis. Signs on the main street and in the village would be most helpful ;)
Our Home away from home was just that. The kids had 4 bedrooms to choose from and each room came with all the bathroom essentials which were greatly appreciated. The quite location was just that, quite and peaceful. The grounds included a small pool with waterfall and very comfortable deck loungers. The rooms and pool were cleaned daily and if you happened to be having breakfast the housekeeper offered to do the cooking. The pool that was within the grounds was very nicely situated along the outer bank of the property and there were two different set of steps down to the lovely beach.
Being inside the grounds made seeing the rising or setting sun rather difficult. We usually had to go to the beach or pool to see the spectacular views. The house was very comfortable with chairs outside on the front porch and in the BBQ area. Wifi was great to have, there are several books to read and DVDs but No Tv?? If we were to return we would arrange to have one of the outer locations to have an ocean view.

Unspoilt beauty in remote Nayarit location. Don't tell everyone!
My family and I stayed here 10 days over Christmas/ New Year. Prior to arrival , communication was pretty good with the owner Jossie. We arrived late on Christmas Eve and arranged to meet Chello in the square at Zacaulpan. However, driving in the dark, being given wrong directions by a gas station attendant and a major road being dug up and re routed, our arrival was over 2 hours late and was not the best start to the vacation. Jossie was very accommodating over the phone and helpful and eventually we found our way. In the light of day, we found the Villa to be very beautiful. The road leading to the villa is not for the faint hearted. It has craters, not pot holes, so you need to keep your eyes peeled! The Villa is very well equipped, although it did not have the mosquito nets hanging, the hammock or music library as stated. Chello came 8 days of our 10 to clean. We prepared all of our own food. There is a T.V, which thankfully we did not need to use too much but it is only for D.V.Ds and the selection was not great. A lot did not work due to the region and unless you like horror films, the choice was not so great.We only used the T.V a little bit but as a suggestion, for families travelling with small children, it might be nice to have some more options for little ones for the rare times T.V might be needed.
The beach (Playa de Tortugas) was lovely. Desserted and stretched for miles. Ocean was lovely and warm. No lifeguards but on different days the current was quite safe.
Our 4 and 7 year old boys loved it. Although there are 14 properties, you never felt over looked by neighbours. Each villa is unique.
If you want an escape from noise, technology and traffic, this is a prime destination.
Negatives:
*Community pool had very little beds to use and pool was icey cold.
*It would be nice to have more information at the villa of excursions and local information. Could not find the mentioned suggestion/ notebook?
*Maybe some family board games to use would be nice for quiet nights in.
*Beds VERY firm.
Those are minor details, to an otherwise perfect trip.
Platanitos was great for local fish and very local restaurants. Tortillas amazing at Restaurant Ruiz!
Would definitely return to the area. Its very un spoilt.

Absolutely wonderful
Beautiful 4 bedroom house built around a central courtyard with a private pool and hot tub. We had my mother and father in law and our 5 children (age 6-20) there and were very comfortable. This is a gated community 2 hours north of Puerto Vallarta near a small fishing/beach village called Platanitos. There are about 12 houses on a peninsula. There is a larger pool that serves the development of 12 houses. There is a small beautiful beach a 1-2 minute walk from the beach which is very uncrowded. It is next to a river/estuary with a sandbar surfbreak at the mouth and a 14 km beach a 20 yard swim or paddle across the river.
THis is a quiet place. No nightlife. We had a cook (Chello) who did a great job cooking and cleaning the house. The owner (Jossie Gill who lives in Denver) was easy to work with and responsive. The weather was perfect as was the weather. NO issues with the house. Internet is not great but I almost consider that a plus. The cost was very reasonable during the week between Christmas and New Years. We would definately stay here again and would recomend it without reservation.

Beautiful, remote, relaxing getaway
It's actually located in Platanitos about an hour from Sayulita further north along the coast. The house is 1 of 11 in a gated community called Punta el Custodio. There are some local beach restaurants about 5 minutes away, but for the most part the community is an island unto itself, with the houses immersed in lush tropical vegetation on a bluff overlooking the ocean, seemingly isolated from all else. It takes getting away to another level.
The house is comfortable, with friendly, attentive service from the maid/cook. It doesn't directly overlook the ocean (wrong side of the street), but does have ocean views through palm trees from the 2nd floor balcony. I listened to the sounds of the waves as I slept with the balcony doors open.
The house has a small pool, but I spent more time at the communal pool, which had a larger deck, with more sun exposure, overlooking the beach. Stairs go down to the beach, but the sandy area was relatively small an usually wet. It wasn't idea for lying out. It's more a destination for those who want to surf. There are other beaches nearby for those who want.
The one problem I had was with the Internet. I'm not sure if the service was often broken or had limited daily data transfer, but I often had problems. There's also no TV that I saw, although I could have used it at night.
