Climbing Rose Cottage is a beautiful Cotswold stone cottage, located on a quiet lane in the peaceful village of Upper Oddington, close to the famous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and with many beautiful walks straight from the front door. Upper Oddington and its neighbour, Lower Oddington, contain two highly regarded pubs, and the well-known Daylesford Estate is close by. Climbing Rose Cottage is ideally located for exploring the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. This lovely traditional cottage has many character features, including oak beams, exposed Cotswold stone and a beautiful fireplace, with a wood burning stove. The character of the cottage is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, a flatscreen TV and a well presented kitchen. Climbing Rose Cottage sleeps two people, in one bedroom, with a lovely bathroom. There is a garden at the front of the property and an off street parking space is available. The cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful village in the heart of the Cotswold countryside. House Rules Security deposits Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions). Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property is two guests at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than two guests at the property. Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to one additional infant, or a toddler if guests bring a blow up bed. Pets Regrettably, pets are not accepted. Bed sizes and configurations There is a king size bed. Bathrooms The bathroom contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. Heating, fuel and logs The property has wall mounted electric heaters and electricity is included in the rental price. An initial basket of logs is provided for the wood burning stove and further log supplies can be purchased locally. Services provided The property has free wireless internet access, and a Freeview TV with a DVD player. There is no telephone at the property. Mobile phone reception is variable, typically being better outside the cottage than inside. Parking The cottage has an allocated off street parking space, and further parking is available in the village. Housekeeping Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request. Child friendly facilities Guests are welcome to bring their own travel cot and high chair, to accommodate one infant, or a blow up bed to accommodate a toddler. Please note that the cottage’s garden is not enclosed, therefore mobile infants should be supervised outside at all times. Accessibility, health and safety There are a couple of steps from the pathway leading down to the patio. The staircase leads directly into the bedroom, with no door or stairgate, therefore toddlers should be supervised at all times. The bedroom also has some low beams, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.More

About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
