Escape to the serenity of our captivating garden cottage, set in the beautiful Hagerstown Valley in Western Maryland. We're an excellent home base for local travel to Antietam National Battlefield and the C&O Canal in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Our guests enjoy a private entrance that leads to three well-appointed one-bedroom en-suites featuring queen beds, private baths, modern amenities, a lounge, and fine linens. Awake to a delightful hearty breakfast of homemade pastries and local organics. Nightly homemade treats can be expected as well. We're located a short 70 mile drive from Baltimore or Washington, D.C.

Great way to end a great day
Our host Kathy was just great. She gave us some great restaurant choices before we arrived at Rose Cottage. Once at RC, we were able relax in a very comfortable room and common room. We enjoyed our evening and the fabulous breakfast that she prepared. If you are in the Fairplay area, this B&B is not to be missed.

Home-away-from-home
After a wonderful evening at Big Cork Vineyards, we stayed at the Rose Cottage Bed and Breakfast in Fairplay, MD. Just a twenty-minute drive from the vineyards, the Bed and Breakfast was spectacular in so many ways. Not only did the owner meet us at 10:30 p.m., she did so with a smile on her face. Welcome is the word that comes to mind upon meeting Kathy. The accommodations, a private bedroom with ensuite bathroom was well appointed, comfortable, meticulously clean and provided all the comforts of one's own bedroom.
In the morning we joined another couple on the covered patio for a home-made breakfast of fresh fruit, omelettes, pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee. Foodies will love the attention to detail, the fresh ingredients and love that went into the preparation.
Such a wonderful gem we found at Rose Cottage Suites. Thank you, Kathy.
Next time we are in the area we will return.

We're centrally located to Antietam National Battlefield and Hagerstown's Premium Outlets. Each is less than 10 minutes away. Saint James School is less than 5 minutes away. The pristine C&O Canal National Park and the lovely college town of Shepherdstown, WV is about 15 minutes away. It offers many delightful boutiques and excellent restaurants. Harpers Ferry National Park is less than 45 minutes from our bed and breakfast.
We're known for spoiling couples who want a romantic weekend, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We welcome girlfriends who want a getaway and can recommend many lovely local wineries including Big Cork Vineyards, less than 15 minutes away. Hagerstown Maryland offers a full schedule of weekend festivals and the Maryland Theater, boasting concerts from the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. We're ideally located to appreciate fall festivals such as Colorfest in nearby Thurmont, Maryland.

How to get there
From I 70, take exit 29 (Sharpsburg) and go south 5 miles. Make a right on Spielman Road (route 63 North). Go exactly one mile and make a left on Rose Cottage Lane. Look for Rose Cottage signage.
If you're traveling from Baltimore or Washington, D.C., we're a short drive away. Frederick, Maryland is the nearest big city on your way, about 30 minutes before our exit on I70.
