If you’ve driven by, you’ve wondered about the story of this beautiful stone building. Built in 1832 as a one-room schoolhouse – a function it served until 1950 -- this charming and historic building has been given new life as a vacation getaway. We are about 8 minutes away from Jiminy Peak and near Tanglewood to the south and Williamstown to the north.. The first floor classroom has the original blackboards and antique school furniture, while the tall windows offer wonderful light and views of horses, cows and mountains. Upstairs is a very large, but cozy space for sleeping and relaxing. There is a queen sized poster bed and a twin bed, plus 2 floor mattresses for kids. The kitchen is small but fully equipped and there is dining table for 4-6 people. Walk or bike up the hill less than a mile to the Mt. Greylock Visitors Center. Ideal for a romantic getaway or for a family of 4-6. A fee of $25/night applies for additional adults after the first two. No extra charge for children.More
