Holiday Rental House
A pretty, four bedroom, three bathroom air-conditioned villa in the heart of a famous Croatian fishing village, just a stone's throw from the sea. Authentic, beautifully restored old house. WiFi. This gorgeous, recently restored fisherman's home is located in the harbour of a beautiful fishing village, famous for its centuries-old fishing tradition. Fishermen set out in their wooden fishing boats right in front of the house, and return a few hours later laden with John Dory, sea bass, monkfish, sardines and lobster! Last time I was there they told me that they teach fishing to the rest of the world! The house is surrounded by similar quaint dwellings and narrow pedestrian streets, markets, cafes and fresh fish restaurants. The house is surrounded by similar quaint dwellings and narrow pedestrian streets, markets, cafes and fresh fish restaurants. It is hidden behind a stone wall, and a gate leads you to a secluded courtyard, paved with the local stone and decorated with plant pots. Just as in the olden days, the ground floor of the villa is a wine cellar, and an outdoor stone staircase leads to the two upper floors, connected with an indoor wooden staircase. This villa is situated in a pedestrian zone, and a car space is reserved for it 100 metres away from the villa.More

There is evidence of a stone age settlement on Vis and the Greeks established a colony there in 397 BC. Control of the island later passed to the Romans and for much of the middle ages the island was under Vene...
