Our Cabin on Baldy Lake, a cozy little cottage on 10 acres, approx 12 miles south of Munising/Pictured Rocks; provides rustic simplicity , fishing, canoeing and the tranquil charm of life in the north woods of the Hiawatha National Forest. Our Cabin on Baldy Lake has a view of the water, in an isolated spot away from the hustle and bustle of the highway (but only 2 miles away). If you like camping and being on your own lake, but don't like sleeping on the ground, Baldy Lake Cabin will give you the comfort of beds and convenience of gas lights without sacrificing some of the camping feel. Although this is rustic, the cabin is comfortable and beautifully done in tongue and groove aspen and decorated with wildlife decor. We are not without the very basic amenities including a composting toile...

A signed rental agreement w/guest info is required. Minimum stay varies, be sure to check with me BEFORE you book to avoid a possible change in your dates.
More than 6 guests, cleaning fee increases by $25.

Well behaved dogs are ok, additional fees required.

Amazing Getaway
If you enjoy camping but want the comforts of a cottage than this is the perfect getaway. Quiet, roomy and comfortable. Good fishing too. The loft was a bit warm for sleeping but the temperature was unusually warm while we were there. All around a great time for all ages.

Peaceful escape!
Awesome spot with unbelievable fishing. So relaxing and would recommend to anyone looking a great getaway in the UP near Lake Superior.

Camp At Baldy Lake
The Camp at Baldy Lake is my favorite place to vacation! If you are looking for a place that is peaceful, to recharge from your busy life, this is Hiawatha's best kept treasure (In my opinion). It takes you back in time, with its gas lamps & sink with hand pumped water (our girls LOVED this.. called it the "Laura Engels Cabin") I have stayed at this cottage 3 times different times over the past 3 years and have always left wishing I had more days there. The owners are amazing & helpful. It's always clean & they have it furnished with anything you can possibly need for a rustic vacation.
Great for fishing and kayaking, plus tons of local lakes a quick drive away for more adventures. There is a GORGEOUS swimming beach / park on a nearby neighboring lake that's perfect for a family picnic.

Beyond Peaceful
Our stay was so relaxing and peaceful which was just what we were looking for. The only sounds you hear are from the animals in the forest, no planes, trains or automobiles. It was wonderful to unplug for a
Few days and just enjoy our time together. The cabin/cottage was the cleanest place I have ever stayed, could have literally eaten off the floors. Even the row boat was so clean that was available for use. Lisa and Tom know how to take care of their guests!!

Family vacation
We rented this cabin for a last horrah before school started again. This cabin sits on a small quiet lake. We enjoyed kayaking, hiking, fires and just disconnecting from the hectic world. The cabin has a gas frig, range, composting toilet. It is very cozy with a wood fire indoors for chilly nights. We loved the screen porch for reading and playing games. I would definitely recommend and will return again hopefully soon. One side note, arrive during the day especially if you have teenagers who have overactive imaginations:)

Great Experience
Great place to get away, Very private and quiet lake. The whole family had a great time. Host was great and very friendly. Beautiful area with endless things to explore. Will be back soon.

Fantabulous Cabin on Baldy Lake
Start to finish, we had a blast staying at the cabin on Baldy Lk. We have spent many years in the upper peninsula vacationing but haven't explored the Wetmore/Munising area. We had lots of fun~~from fishing to rock hunting! Absolutely was a peaceful, relaxing vacation away from our hectic lifestyle! You won't be disappointed if you book this getaway cabin. A big thank you to owners for sharing their space with us.

The ULTIMATE in a "rustic" cabin!
If you are looking for a log cabin in the woods that has all the amenities, and still feels rustic and secluded, this is it! Well appointed and inviting - Tom and Lisa Schram know how to provide comfort, convenience and hospitality (they lit the wood stove for us before we arrived)! Inside, the furniture and furnishings are top notch, a cozy setting from which to enjoy the stunning view right outside the cabin's picture window. And, outside, you're in God's Michigan "wilderness" where you can sit beside the lake, or canoe or kayak, or hike, too, and just enjoy the smells, and sounds and sites. The fall colors were magnificent! We could have just enjoyed the cabin, but we were able to take in the great Munising area attractions, too! - Pictured Rocks, many of the area waterfalls and even the Big Spring! We so enjoyed this wonderful getaway in Michigan's UP. Thank you, Hiawatha's Hideaways, and Tom and Lisa Schram!! We will definitely be back!

Best Place Ever!
Love this cabin. Full of wildlife and adventure. Best place for family bonding. We will always book with this site. Management is above the norm and I can't say enough about this place.

Best vacation ever!
Our stay at Baldy Lake was AMAZING!! The cabin was rustic with no electricity and no WiFi and limited cell phone capabilities. However, there were gas lights, stove, fridge, a composting toilet, and battery operated shower. So you're not sacrificing anything, just a different approach from usual. Our teenage girls even loved it unplugged and all!! Will be back!!!

Rustic, peaceful, beautiful! The lake provides a serene experience and good fishing. We are connected to county roads so it's a nice area for hiking and ATVing. There is a country store within 3 miles for convenience items, gas and more!
