Look for the carpenters joint marks where the timbers intersect, these would enable the assembly of the timbers in situ during construction. The Tie bars that run from the outer wall through the kitchen and bathroom areas are an echo from the historic use of the building. Grain would be stored in the building upper floor away from any damp, however as the loading of grain increased this would have applied outward pressure to the walls causing them to spread – therefore the tie bars were inserted to prevent damage to the structure. The Granary has been beautifully furnished and decorated to compliment the original features, using high quality Oak timbers for internal woodwork and artisan Blacksmith fixtures, Private parking and gardens with fruit trees and views across open land are provided for visitors comfort and enjoyment, (the sunsets can be spectacular) also visitors can use the hot tub set in a pine cabin. Also a secure bike storage and clothing/boot drying locker within the storage area below the accommodation.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Motorcycling Heaven
Perfect in every way. Accommodation, immaculate, and well thought out. The hosts had been very careful to include those little extras, that many don't. Plus treats from Hilary, such as home made cake and jam, left out for our return on many days. Hosts were super friendly, nothing too much trouble, but also allowed us our privacy. Plus table and chairs outside, to enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine and views across open fields. Great location, for access to both the moors and dales. Brilliant, pot hole free roads. Steve allowed us to park our motorbikes in a his locked garage and was also kind enough to lend us his local maps and advise us about the best places to visit on our bikes, both for beautiful scenery and also great places to eat. Fantastic week - with amazing weather too. Would recommend 100%

Fabulous accomodation, great base for Yorkshire sightseeing, loved it.
The Granary is beautifully presented accommodation, large shower, comfy bed and linen, sofa, tv, wi-fi and the lovely owners have stocked it with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. It's easy to find and there are so many places to visit within reach we did well to get in as many as we did. Wish we could have stayed longer, but hopefully we'll be back. Slept really well here as well, surroundings tranquil and relaxing. Owners were great and even left us some eggs and fresh raspberries and Steve was really helpful. I would highly recommend and definitely would stay again. Top notch :)
