Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Wonderful, relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside
We stayed here for a week with my parents and our son. The Dairy is such a relaxing place to stay; all on one level which makes it very easy with toddlers as there are no stairs to worry about. The house is immaculate, nicely decorated and has everything you need. Nearby town Buntingford has everything you could want including a cheese shop, a bakery and a wine shop plus a Sainsbury's local and a coop for more general essentials. We would very much like to stay again.

Summer Holiday
We stayed in the Dairy for seven days arriving on Friday 17th August. The Dairy was very easy to get to although we were surprised that most of the roads in that area are one car width wide (or maybe our sat nav liked to send me on rally drives?). The Dairy was clean, well presented and had everything we needed including milk in the fridge and a box of chocolate biscuits. It may have been vacant for a short while before we arrived as quite a few leggy spiders and black beetles had taken up residence but it is that time of year (and it’s a barn in a farm area) so it didn’t bother us and we evicted them. There was a Spanish family staying next door and our children enjoyed playing out each evening with their children in the courtyard. We had a very busy time. We went to St Albans and the large park there with the old pub, Harry Potter Studio Tours, Legoland, Cambridge, and the miniature steam railway at Ware. We also took the train from Stevenage to spend the day in London so that we could visit the Tower of London and have a wander down SouthBank. The Dairy was useful as our ‘home’ and visiting so many places. It was a fabulous holiday and good to visit another part of the Country

Lovely place in the country
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was remarkably warm despite the cold weather outside and it's really well-equipped. We'd love to come back for the summer weather some time as the walks to the nearby villages would be lovely in the sun.

Lovely cottage in beautiful countryside
Very cosy cottage in lovely countryside. It was exceptionally clean and easy to keep tidy. We were just there for three nights so didn't need to use all the facilities, like the washing machine, dish washer and wood burner, but were very happy and loved the towels and furnishings.

Cosy, clean and attractive
We were very pleased with our stay I this property.. It is very cosy and warm with an excellent wood burning stove and nice features like heated towel rails etc.. It is attractively decorated and it was very clean - always important! It isn't very scenic - no beautiful views .. There were also small niggles like constantly running out of plates etc because there were only 4 of each. But, overall, we thought it was very nice and might well visit again

Hi Carola, Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. You are right that there are no beautiful views from the Dairy windows (either the road or the courtyard), but a just a few seconds round the corner you can get a spectacular view across the fields and looking towards the windmill - I will show you next time if you come and stay again! I will look into adding more plates etc. There are enough for each guest, but I do agree it would be nice to have some spares! We would be very pleased to welcome you back soon. Many thanks, Emma

Sort the entrance out
Love the barns themselves, no real problems, although the lights out the front never seem to work and are absolutely no use when trying to obtain the key, when entering in the dark. The key boxes are a good idea, but let down by the fact that even when you have the right combination, it seems very fiddly to get the little door open...The mechanism is not great and leads to frustration and broken nails. The entrance to the barns is very poor... Looks dreadful when you pull in, with a very untidy part of the property on the left. The ground is in total disrepair and suggests that you had better have a 4x4, or you might have problems. As I said, the barns are great and we have booked again, but there is room for improvement outside.

Hi Andy, Thank you for your review. I completely agree about the entrance, but unfortunately this is just a shared access, and the barn adjacent to our holiday barns does not belong to us, and we have been informed on several occasions that the area is going to be improved. However I must disagree that a 4x4 is required, as I and other guests have not found this to be a problem. It is at times wet/muddy but still flat and easy to drive across. The entrance is also an access way into one of our farm's fields, so there are farm vehicles driving across at times. As it is a working farm (as clearly advertised), there is unfortunately going to be mud! I am sure you will no doubt agree, that once you are in the courtyard for the barns, it is a very different story. I am sorry you have had problems with the key box -thank you for your feedback. This has not been fed back to me before and not something that I encounter when I use them, but will take a look and see if we can make them easier to use in the future. Finally thank you for the feedback about the outside lights. I will get an electrician in to look at them. Otherwise, I am glad you like the barns, and we look forward to welcoming you back next week. Many thanks, Emma
