Overview
Holiday Rental House /
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4
Portnahaven, Islay, The Hebrides, Scotland
The Bay is a comfortable, family holiday home situated on the sea front in Portnahaven. The cottage overlooks the bay which has a safe, sandy beach - ideal for playing, swimming, and hunting for crabs. The bay is also home to many seals, which bask on the rocks below the cottage. Portnahaven village has a family friendly pub/restaurant serving local produce, and a small but well stocked village shop. You can buy local honey and eggs in the village, and even crabs and lobster from the fishing boat at the pier. There is a fantastic, relaxed atmosphere, and children can enjoy far greater unsupervised freedom than the mainland.

The Bay is a traditional, two-bedroom fisherman's cottage and sleeps 4/5 people. There is one double bedroom, and a small twin, with room for one more on a sofa bed. A cot and highchair are available on request. T...

We stayed at the Bay for a week in May and can report that this is a super, clean, warm, comfy cottage with amazing views across the bay. The weather was cold and windy, but that's Scotland, so we needed the heating and on a couple of evenings we lit the coal fire so it was really snug. Should mention...

Just back from 5 days in Portnahaven, staying in The Bay. The fishermans cottage is right on the bay with fantastic views across the sea. Lots of seals on the rocks and really enjoyed watching their antics every day. The cottage itself was immaculate, 2 bedrooms, a lounge with a coal fire and a fully equipped kitchen with absolutely everything... more

We had a wonderful holiday staying at the Bay. It is a very clean, warm, well equipped cottage and you really can watch the seals from your window all day long. The island is a fantastic place- great distillery tours, fabulous walks, good food, wonderful golf course and it's especially nice to come back to a cosy cottage in the... more
