Welcome to the Lincoln Room at the historic Vineyard Mansion. The Vineyard Mansion property was built in 1890, by the famed architectural firm of Eckel and Mann, for B. R. Vineyard, who was a prominent attorney in St. Joseph, MO. Although divided into apartments in the 1940s, it has been meticulously restored to its original use and we are now ready to welcome guests.
The Lincoln Room features an intricately carved, queen-size, canopy bed, a stately fireplace, and en suite bath with antique, pedestal-style sink. There is also a cozy seating area tucked under the cheerfully-lit bay windows.
Guests booking now enjoy discounted rates, as we are still restoring some sections of the property. So you will not only get to pocket some savings, but you will also get to see a bit of the restor...

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Historic beauty
Where do I even start with this gorgeous home?! It was the perfect step back in time. Pity I left my corset and ball gowns at home!!
Be warned, there are a lot of steps! Grab all your stuff out of your car and try not to make too many trips, cuz I'm in my 30's and I felt like I had just run a marathon when I packed all my stuff in. Other than that, enjoy this beautiful home! I wish I could have stayed longer, and I most definitely will be booking again! The beds were incredibly soft and the pillows were like laying on giant marshmallows! I immediately went to sleep the second I hit the bed. Everything was clean and there was even a few things stocked in the kitchen, coffee, juice, creamer, and that right there made my morning a whole ton better!!! The manager, Jason, was super easy to work with and reserving was a breeze after a few technical hiccups with the website, but he made sure to keep in contact and help with all my questions!
I highly recommend walking the neighborhood. The homes are mostly early 1800's and breathtakingly gorgeous!
