Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect weekend break
We feel in love with this delightful cottage the moment we arrived and couldn’t have asked for more. From the real log fire to the comfy, hotel style beds, this quirky cottage is a must to visit. A big thank you to Alison for being so helpful, we can’t wait to return in the summer x

The Perfect Cottage
A perfect few days spent at Piglet Cottage over New Year. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break including a very well equipped kitchen. The log burner made it so cosy in the evening and the underfloor heating in the very nice bathroom was appreciated. The garden is lovely perfect for our dog and would be a big bonus in the summer. There are lovely touches all over the cottage much thought has gone into it. So close to Southwold one of our favourite places and easy to get to Walberswick, Dunwich, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh etc Will definitely come back. Alison was a delight to deal with and very quick at coming back to me. I’d thoroughly recommend a stay at Piglet Cottage.

BEAUTIFUL
Perfect cottage in an amazing location. Cottage has all you need to have an enjoyable and relaxing break all year round. Nothing like sitting around a fire on the cold evenings and the garden would be a bonus in the summer! Easy to get into Southwold to explore. Will definitely be coming back!

Gorgeous cottage
Absolutely lovely weekend spent at Piglet Cottage. Such a peaceful location and beautiful views across the countryside from the bedrooms. Loved the garden. Cottage has everything you need. So cosy. Log burner in the snug made the evenings perfect with some wine. So close to Southwold we enjoyed a bracing Autumn walk around the harbour before a fabulous Sunday roast in the Lord Nelson pub. Will be coming back again.

What a cracking little place this is....!!!!
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and an easy drive into Southwold makes this place a great holiday rental. It has all of the facilities you would want and is as cosy as a furlined onesie! We loved Snape Maltings, The Nelson Pub in Southwold (quite possibly the best pub in the world IMHO), Aldeburgh, Minsmere, Walberswick - the list goes on and on. Oh, and The Fox at Shadingfield, (quite possibly the second best pub in the world, although they WERE voted Pub of the Year this year by CAMRA).

About the neighbourhood
Uggeshall is a quiet, rural location away from the busy town but close enough to be easily accessible by bike, car or taxi. There is also a bus service but times are varied. Piglet Cottage boasts views of the countryside from the front and back and there are a number of lovely walks and cycle routes to enjoy. Wangford village store is just 1 mile away on the opposite side of A12 and stocks a range of fine foods, household goods and wine. Next door but one to the cottage sells delicious fresh eggs. There is a Tesco superstore in Beccles that will deliver or visit Southwood for smaller express supermarkets, lovely delis and bakeries etc.
Getting around
There are so many places and sights to visit within a short drive. Kessingland is just 10 minutes boasting Africa Alive. Norwich is a 50 minute drive with its amazing shopping centre. Aldeburgh, Snape, Thorpeness, Framlingham and Lowestoft all approx 30 mins with their many famous attractions. Pubs a plenty and we are yet to be disappointed by any of them! Quality of food is amazing.

How to get there
From Ipswich follow the A12 to Lowestoft. After the train station and level crossing at Darsham it is about another 12 mins. Turn left at Stoven/Uggeshall (Wangford on the right) and follow lane for a mile past the church on the left. You will see a national speed limit sign and you turn first right after that (100 metres or so). Piglet Cottage entrance is hidden directly behind the pink bungalow on your right.
