About the neighbourhood
Capestang itself is a vibrant commune. During the summer months there are lots of possibilities for activities and entertainment, such as musical and cultural events, wine tastings, fetes on the square, spectacles on the canal. There is lots to do in the local area: • Cruise by barge on the Canal du Midi • Swim, windsurf, kitesurf, jetski in the Mediterranean sea • Go river bathing, kayaking, canoeing in the Orb or the Aude rivers • Cycle, hike, rock climb in the beautiful countryside • Learn about the Cathars in the Middle Ages • Discover local wines, food and culture • Sunbathe, relax, dream in the hot Mediterranean sunshine …..
Getting around
By far the best way to explore the region is by car. If you don't have your own, car hire is easy from both the airport and the station. Cycling is also popular in the area, and particularly alongside the canal. There are a number of local bicycle hire businesses.
