This second floor apartment is situated in the early 19th century Chateau de Vaux on the outskirts of the tiny village of Vaux sur Eure and only 5kms from the lovely local town of Pacy sur Eure.

The apartment offers comfortable accommodation for four people with the option of an additional two people on a sofa bed. The two bedrooms and the lounge give beautiful south facing views over the extensive grounds including the ornamental lake and swimming pool. (NOTE the Chateau pool is only open from June to first week September. An indoor pool is only a short 7 minute drive.) The Chateau is surrounded by a network of rivers and streams and the private grounds provide ample opportunity for leisurely walking and cycling. Tennis is also available within the grounds and there is an indoor games room with table tennis.

Chateau de Vaux is a stunning property set in beautifully maintained grounds and we found the accommodation very comfortable & well equipped. The village of Vaux sur Eure is a twenty minute drive from Vernon, a bustling market town on the Normandy border. Here one can find a variety of good restaurants, visit the historic church and local museum amongst other attractions. Vernon is only a short distance away from Giverny famous for the home of the artist Claude Monet. It is here that Monet painted his picture of the water lillies and one can explore the beautiful garden and view the lake complete with ornamental bridge. If driving to the Chateau from Calais or Dieppe the majority of the journey is by auto-route picking up the A13 in the final stages of your journey. Leaving at junction 16 the last fifteen minutes of the journey is through beautiful countryside passing over the river Eure, across the old railway, which is now a tourist attraction and then into the village of Vaux sur Eure. A more detailed route can be provided by the owner.
