1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Betws Gwerfil Goch, Corwen, Denbighshire, North Wales, Wales
This rural converted barn, the Shippon, is in a fabulous location. It is for those who really want to get off the beaten track. It is just over 9 miles from the mediaeval market town of Ruthin, up in the hills at Melin-y-Wig, Denbighshire. There are stunning views of the countryside on the way to the property.
The Shippon shares the attractive farmyard with the owners' barn conversion and the original farmhouse all of traditional random-stone construction typical of the area. Many fittings are hand-crafted in local timber by the owner (a joiner). The interior with its soft, rounded edges has a unique style and charm, while also featuring modern furniture and wood burning stove for cosy nights. About the neighbourhood
This is a lightly-populated rural area where the main source of income is sheep, cattle farming and tourism. The landscape is made up of hills and valleys, very fresh and green, mostly pasture and woodland. There are many fabulous walks. Single lane roads lead to the property from the A5 or A494. Passing places along these lanes and beautiful views. Small villages are dotted around, and country market towns, e.g. Ruthin provide the necessary focal points with shops and pubs and restaurants. The edge of Snowdonia is approximately 20mns or so by car.
