Interior Designer Katharine Pooley has taken inspiration from all things nautical and using a timeless palate of off white, blues, taupe, grey ,oak and marble she has created an unmatchable, luxurious, peaceful & elegant home from home for the perfect coastal holiday.

Thank you for a fantastic stay at the beautiful Weatherstone House. The property has everything you need (and a lot more) for a special vacation. Beautifully furnished and decorated and very clean throughout. Host was very efficient and helpful. We'd definitely book again.

Beautiful house in great location
We had a fantastic stay in Weatherstone House. The house is really lovely and very well located in Croyde village close to the lovely beach.

Lovely stay!!
Had a wonderful stay in August at the charming & traditional Weatherstone House. The location is perfect, set 250m away from the centre of Croyde village and within a stone's throw of the village's pub(s), restaurants and bakery/general store. The village itself is the perfect base from which to explore the beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Woolacombe & Putsborough. There are great walks from the doorstep in every direction (our favourite being right across the headland, down onto Saunton Sands) and the beaches are the perfect platform from which the kids can take their first steps on a surf/body board. The house itself is next-level. The immaculate interiors are demonstrative of owners who've clearly taken huger personal pride in making the cottage the perfect getaway. They have literally thought of everything, from wetsuit dunk-tank, wet room for a post-beach wash, shoe/boot driers and BBQ. The bedrooms are luxuriously furnished, spacious and welcoming and the kids bunk-bed room was much-loved. There is also a hot tub, which was a welcome addition after the long, hilly walks. Can't speak highly enough of the standard of accommodation, nor the ease of dealing with the owner Dan, who was always on hand to answer questions and troubleshoot (not that there was anything approaching an issue). It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny and we'll go again without a doubt. I'd be amazed if anyone can find fault with a stay here. We couldn't!!

Beautifully Equipped Cottage in a Stunning Location
The attention to detail in Mountain Ash House is second to none. Every aspect of the home interior and furnishings has been carefully considered to make you feel welcome and provides a cosy luxurious environment to unwind. The property is a short walk from all the local amenities and pubs and the beaches at Croyde Bay and Saunton are simply stunning and surfing hot spots. Baggy point is a nearby spectacular walk and Saunton Golf Club is less than a mile away and the East course in particular is a majestic links that reminded me of playing St Andrews old course. After all the outdoor activity and sea air on your doorstep, you come back to Mountain Ash where there is even a hot tub to truly relax. Five star!

Beautiful holiday home within close proximity to the beach
We wanted to explore a new area and to do some surfing. We had heard that Croyde was the place to go! Mountain Ash House was absolutely beautiful; newly furnished to a very high standard. It was also close to amenities - a coffee shop, wetsuit shop, some beach shops and a short drive to both Saunton Sands and Croyde beach itself. We used the house as a base to go for lovely long coastal walks and to come back to after surfing. The children LOVED the hot tub! It was a fabulous weekend!

This home is absolutely outstanding in every way. It has been furnished to such a high standard, that it is almost insanity that Dan and Katherine let anyone stay here at all. I wouldn't even invite my friends around. Fortunately they are clearly more generous of spirit than me. Every room is an utter delight to be in: The kitchen is any chef's dream, with every appliance and service I've ever dreamed of and a few we now must have; we never wanted to get out of the sublime beds with their incredibly soft linen and weighty duvets; the bunks and books in the childrens' playroom or nursery made me want to be and a child again; the bathrooms are all palaces with wonderfully deep baths, large showers, luxurious towels, toiletries, and charmingly beachy decor; and the outside is a haven (book the hot tub).The thought that they have put into even the smallest details is humbling. The artwork and fixtures are enchanting. All of their recommendations for walks and eateries were excellent - the Stores café at the end of the road was a joy, the Rock Inn for Sunday lunch is the perfect local with hearty food and great beer, the beaches at both Croyde and Saunton are achingly beautiful. Dan and Katherine have achieved something truly special here and I can't recommend it enough. It should be double the price and you really should have to provide references before being allowed to stay! Book quickly before they come to their senses. I was expecting something great, but this home exceeded anything I could imagine, let alone expect. I have run out of superlatives, but thank you again for sharing this all with us.

Beautiful cottage that feels like home away from home, but better!
Fantastic newly decorated house in an incredible location. The house itself is 6 star if that's possible! Every room is lovely and everything has been thought of even down to an area to warm your wet boots after a long walk along the coast! 1 min walk to the pub down the road as well as a lovely coffee shop and other local stores! The beaches are all very close and we couldn't of been more content. The communication with the owners was first class as well! Would highly recommend and can't wait to return with my parents later in the year!

Stunning cottage !!!
We stayed in mountain ash cottage over easter weekend and enjoyed croyde and the surrounding areas immensely. There are some stunning coastal walks right on the door step and the village is so quaint and picture perfect.
Where to begin with the cottage!! I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere quite so perfect ! the attention to detail in this cottage is amazing. Every creature comfort has been thought about so carefully the bathrooms are stunning, the sheets are so soft and I just love the shells that have been carefully sown onto the edge of all of the binds and curtains. The outside court yard at the back of the house is great for outdoor cooking and we enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub after a long coastal walk. I would love to stay here again and can't recommend it enough!

The holiday rental you wish you owned!
We had serious home envy staying here for 4 days over New Year 2018/19.
This charming cottage, so much bigger on the inside than it looks from outside, is a rare blend of homely and luxurious.
All the soft furnishings from carpets, upholstery, sheets, throws to cushions are top quality and almost everywhere you look there’s a thoughtful nautical themed ornament or touch. You are enveloped in supreme comfort but never worried that you have to be too precious.
Huge sky lights on the top floor flood what would be dark, stuffy attic rooms with light and fresh air and extra large bunk beds got our children very over excited. They loved keeping warm by the fire, reading books or playing games and watching films on a widescreen TV when the early winter nights drew in.
The kitchen and its layout is a thing of wonder: beautiful but very practical, a huge fridge, clever store cupboards with neat rows of everything you could think of, even an instant boiling / filtered cold water tap.
The order of the day is very much get-away-from-it-all, kick back and relax, especially when there’s every mod con you can imagine: dimmable lights, underfloor heating and a log burner fireplace, ski style boot warmers, a dedicated wet suit changing room to avoid bringing sand into the house and a hot tub in the garden which is cannot be overlooked, the list goes on.
And if you want action, be it for walking, surfing, bike riding, running its location is excellent: right in the centre of Croyde but not on the main (“busy” for Devon!) coastal road and just a few minutes walk from a great local deli, post office, pubs and the outstanding Croyde beach. The 3 and a half mile long beach at Saunton Sands with its well known dunes is a 5 minute drive away.
We were sad to leave and will be back as soon as we possibly can.

A five star Christmas break.
A wonderful Christmas stay in a beautiful setting and enchanting cottage.
Tastefully luxurious yet supremely homely in it's comfort. We were totally enamoured with the warm welcoming ambience. Utterly delightful.
A lovely time and a return visit is a must. Very highly recommended!!
