Took advantage of people during the hurricane
This review is not about the property, as we couldn’t access it (although I have stayed at it previously), but about the owner. During the catastrophic Hurricane Helene, we could not access this property because of roads blocked and high rushing waters. We were in town for a horse show and were trying to figure out how to care for the animals with no power, etc. Tryon itself did an amazing job helping everyone. The community banded together to help. But Monica didn’t. When I informed her that we could not access the property (we went at 3:00 and tried for an hour to gainare access - all roads were blocked). I texted her and communicated via the AirBnB app. Of course she did not respond until hours later. Which is completely understandable because there was no power and barely any cell service. But the way she treated us during all of this. Claiming if we had waited long enough (past the contractually agreed check in time) that we could have gotten in. Even though there was no power. No electricity. And we are trying to take care of our animals. I cannot fathom anyone would want to stay when there were flood warnings. Officials telling us to leave.
Not only did she refuse to refund any money (which is unlawful pursuant to the contract), she was the absolute rudest person. Frankly, downright nasty. Beware of this woman and her lack of care and moral character.

About the neighbourhood
A beautiful and rural area with lots of horses and equines. We are minutes away from the Tryon International Equestrian Center, close to many beautiful hiking areas, and you can cycle for MILES right from the front door. This is country living at its best.
