The cottage has a wealth of local information including maps and walking routes. Free Wifi allows guests to look up current events eg cinema show times, and activities plus essentials such as mountain weather forecasts. Guests can contact me with questions at any time via phone, text or email. Living locally I am on hand to answer questions or sort out any problems.

Stayed at the Coachouse in August 2018 - fabulous views Catbells, Maiden Moor and High Spy to one side and Derwentwater and Surprise view to the other. What more could we ask for. We even saw deer wandering very close by. A very pleasant walk...More

About the neighbourhood
Garden cottage is set in wooded countryside at Fellside, in the Borrowdale valley, near Keswick at the foot of Catbells. The Borrowdale valley runs beside Derwent Water and down to the Honister Pass which leads over to Buttermere. It is a beautiful, scenic part of the Lake District, which recently the tour of Britain passed through. There is much to do in the area including walking, cycling and water sports in addition to many interesting places to visit. The near-by market town of Keswick which has many tourist attractions and shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés. The Tourist Information Centre in the market square offers help, advice and more ideas. A good source of information is the Keswick Tourist Association website.
Getting around
The Derwent Launch is a fun way to travel round the lake with stopping off points to combine walks and cafes, bars. The open top Bus runs regularly down the valley and the Honister Rambler bus operates during the summer months.

How to get there
Railway: Penrith: 30.0 km
From the M6:
Leave the motorway at junction 40, A66 Penrith. Follow the A66 west towards Workington and the west/north lakes, and proceed to Keswick.
At Keswick follow the signs for the B5289 towards Borrowdale. Turn right over the bridge into Grange. Follow the road through the village and continue along for about another ¾ mile. The cottage is up a driveway to the left.
The nearest station is Penrith. From there take a bus to Keswick, a second bus to Grange.
