Ground floor: spacious, open-plan and light with a 24ft sitting room, feature fireplace and log effect fire. Farmhouse style oak kitchen with adjacent dining area - perfect to sit at and chat with the chefs! Family bathroom, double bedroom with brand new ensuite bathroom.

First floor: master bedroom with sitting area and ensuite bathroom with claw foot bath, triple bedroom with three single beds, attractive galleried twin bedroom entered through a door from the landing. Please note there are full height curtains which can be drawn across the balustrade to maintain privacy when required.

Between September and March and excluding school holiday weeks, Christmas and New Year we are able to offer a 10% low occupancy discount on the Farmhouse if your party size is 4 or fewer.

SHORT BREAKS:
We are now offering both weekly bookings and selected short breaks throughout the year on Scafell Cottage. Minimum stay 2 nights.

Electricity, gas, linen and towels are included in the rental price.

How to get there
Airport: Manchester: 170.0 km
Railway: Dalegarth: 0.5 km
If coming from the North exit the M6 at Carlisle, then take the A5959 to Cockermouth, Egremont and then Gosforth. Head up Eskdale from the west.

If coming from the South, Depart the M6 at Junction 36. The quickest route is along the A590/A595 along South Cumbria to Broughton in Furness then through Ulpha and over Birker Moor.


There are other options by plane and train:

From Manchester Airport the cottages are a 2 hour drive. You can take the fast mainline train to Oxenholme near Kendal and hire a car there. Or take the West Cumbria train line around the coast to Ravenglass and then swap platforms to take the Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow guage steam railway up to Dalegarth station which is only 400 metres from the cottages.
