I booked Wastwater Cottage and The Farmhouse to host a Wellness Weekend Health Retreat. Everything was perfect and I booked the very next day to host another event for longer this time in September 2019. I have no hesitation in recommending Select Cottages.

A lovely cottage; worked very well for a group of 8 friends. 25m from the pub and not much further from walking straight out into the National Park. Great walks nearby and good location for Scafell Pike and Wastwater too.

About the neighbourhood
Bridge End Farm Cottages have colourful and well maintained gardens with wonderful views. The cottages are tucked away in a secluded location within the picturesque and historic village of Boot. Boot has a fantastic setting in the valley of Eskdale eloquently described by the famous Lakeland author Alfred Wainwright: 'Eskdale, one of the loveliest of Lakeland's valleys, descends from the highest and wildest mountains in the district to the sands of Ravenglass in a swift transition from grandeur to beauty... It is a place of many delights, the finest of all valleys for those whose special joy is to travel on foot and a paradise for artists.' This is the heart of the Lake District National Park with the highest, deepest, steepest, and oldest! Within walking distance are Scafell Pike, Engl...
How to get there
If coming from the North exit the M6 at Carlisle, then take the A5959 to Cockermouth, Egremont and then Gosforth. Head up Eskdale from the west. If coming from the South, Depart the M6 at Junction 36. The quickest route is along the A590/A595 along South Cumbria to Broughton in Furness then through Ulpha and over Birker Moor. There are other options by plane and train: From Manchester Airport the cottages are a 2 hour drive. You can take the fast mainline train to Oxenholme near Kendal and hire a car there. Or take the West Cumbria train line around the coast to Ravenglass and then swap platforms to take the Ravenglass and Eskdale narrow guage steam railway up to Dalegarth station which is only 400 metres from the cottages.
