Lovely spacious pet friendly cottage. Lots of room for 10 of us adults and baby and two dogs. The cottage is totally out of the village so quiet and secluded with lovely walks from the doorstep. The whole area around Boot is rugged and beautiful....More

I stayed in this beautiful cottage for two nights with family and friends for my 30th birthday. Nice local walks with gorgeous surroundings and village pubs. All very welcoming. The house has everything to offer. Never went without anything. Will definitely return

Fell Bedroom The fell bedroom has an ensuite shower room, oak king size bed, oak dressing table and mirror, original exposed beams and 21 inch flat screen television with DVD and Freesat and on-demand streaming TV. Lindsay Bedroom The Lindsay room boasts two single beds with Lindsay tartan throws and matching cushions. There is also a chest of drawers and large double wardrobe. Duckegg Bedroom The Duckegg room is decorated in an attractive duck egg blue design and overlooks the front garden. It comprises of two single beds a large double wardrobe and a wide chest of drawers. The Duckegg room also has a large sink and splashback in the corner. Heather Bedroom The Heather Bedroom sleeps two with a double bed and it overlooks the large gardens and orchard to Whillen Beck, a small stream that runs alongside the property. It is pleasantly decorated in heather colours and comes with a large chest of drawers and double wardrobe. Library Bedroom The former Library Bedroom is on the ground floor and boasts two single beds. The windows look over the gardens and down the valley over the village of Boot toward the sea which is approximately seven miles away. Reception Rooms The large family room has two large leather sofas, a leather chair and leather stool on an oak woodfloor. The room contains a widescreen television with Freesat Satellite TV, DVD and VHS video player and on-demand streaming TV. There is a broad fireplace containing a powerful solid fuel stove with glass windows for safe operation as either an open fire or a closed stove. Coal and firewood are provided to create the perfect atmosphere. Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, cards and other games are provided for entertainment. Sitting Room with Fireplace Garden view from sitting room Also, downstairs is a full entrance hall and wet room for boots and coats. There is a table football game to occupy the younger (or young at heart) members of your group. Off this room is a full bathroom and storage room. Floorplan The cottage is situated over two floors. There are four bedrooms, one ensuite, and a full bathroom on the first floor (upstairs). On the ground floor is one bedroom, one full bathroom, two reception rooms and the large open plan kitchen and dining area. There are two king sized beds, 6 single beds, two folding beds and two travel cots in the cottage.

Within the valley lie the villages of Boot, Eskdale Green and Ravenglass, a Narrow Gauge Railway, a Castle, the last working Corn mill in the Lake District, several Galleries, 3 Campsites, 7 Inns and much much more. The river Esk starts it's journey to the sea from high in the fells at Esk Hause, passing through Great Moss at the base of Scafell Pike then tumbling down through a narrow gorge and a series of waterfalls. The stream swelled by many becks becomes a river and encounters it's first road at the foot of Hardknott Pass England's steepest road. From here the river takes on a more gentle character with small rapids as it passes through some of the most beautiful oak woodland in Cumbria.
