Holiday Rental House
Brock Cottage is an idyllic base from which to explore the Lake District. Nestled in the small ancient market town of Broughton-in-Furness, this 3-storey holiday cottage immediately to the left of the archway is perfectly situated for car-free evening dining after days out exploring this picturesque area. The Duddon Valley, honoured by Wordsworth, is on the doorstep, with Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere a short drive away. Broughton, with its Georgian square complete with stocks, has butcher, delicatessen and bakery all specialising in local produce. Mountain biking, walking, fishing, sailing and cruising the lakes are all eminently accessible. Dating back to the 1750s, the cottage is located in one of the best surviving examples of a cobbled courtyard, formerly named Sutney Square. ...Brock Cottage is an idyllic base from which to explore the Lake District. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect Lake District Cottage
Perfect! Booked for family who were coming to stay in the Lakes. Situated in the perfect place in Broughton, just off the central square with gorgeous pubs and bakeries. Quirky and cosy with a real fire, slate floors and wooden winding stairs but with all modern amenities such as a good fitted bathroom with decent shower, comfy beds and a dish washer. Plenty of parking on the road. Will be booking again.

Cosy cottage, nice location
Enjoyed a Monday to Friday stay in a nice quiet location in Broughton in Furness. Nice village with great butchers, fruit/veg shop, bakery cafe and pubs. We did several walks locally and some great cycling loops of lesser known hard road hill climbs from the door on quiet roads. The cottage is larger than it first appears possible from the outside with a decent kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bedrooms.

Lake District Stay
What a lovely little cottage, with everything you need, even a fresh uncut loaf of bread from the local bakery which was a nice touch. Broughton has a few local pubs which were pleasant and it’s a good location to get to the more touristy places too. We will be back and would definitely recommend. Thank you The Edwards

A lovely cosy cottage which was very clean and lots of personal touches to make you feel at home. The local bakery is excellent and three pubs within a two minute walk. Highly recommend!

Perfect getaway cottage!!
Awesome cottage, everything is just perfect and as described! It had everything we needed and we felt more than home, the perfect getaway! All the small notes and the manual are of extreme help in making the stay even more perfect! Ali's a great host, untiring to say the least, friendly and helpful on the highest level really! We had some issues with flight delays and cancelled flights which almost broke our vacations but Ali gave us extreme help through everything! The small town of Broughton-in-Furness is also very cosy and friendly. We absolutely loved our stay and we got to visit all the big lakes all around the district, the whole Lake District is stunning! So you can count on an awesome host, awesome stay and awesome surroundings! Will be back for sure :)
