Cark-in-Cartmel is located in the beautiful Cartmel valley with its lush green fields, quiet leafy lanes, and gentle rolling hills. The cobbled streets and 12th century priory village of Cartmel lies just 1½ miles to the north and Lake Windermere is a 10 minute drive. Please visit our location page for details on the area. PETS We pride ourselves in offering 1 of the best dog friendly holiday cottages in the Lake District. Dogs are welcome for a small charge of £20 for 1 dog, £30 for 2 dogs. Please ensure you notify us if you want to bring a dog before you book. Non pet owners can rest assured that we spend this extra money on additional cleaning so that non pet owners would have no idea a dog has stayed at Bridgelands Cottage. Both pubs in the village are dog friendly as are all 4 pubs in nearby Cartmel too. More

About the neighbourhood
Located away from roads at the end of a private, cobbled lane in the picturesque village of Cark-in-Cartmel in Cumbria. Our village is located at the southern end of the Cartmel Valley and is peaceful without being remote. There are 2 good country pubs within 2 minute walk of the cottage, both of which serve good food and welcome families, walkers and are dog and child friendly. The village also has an artisan bakery only a minute’s stroll away. they also make to order lovely pizzas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The pretty stream that meanders through the village runs down to Morecambe Bay, Britain’s largest tidal bay. Being located so close to the bay brings a milder, drier climate than the rest of the Lake District.
Getting around
Our cottage is just 10 minute’s drive to Lake Windermere and Grange-over-Sands, whilst Kendal, Ulverston, Coniston, and Bowness-on-Windermere are all within 30 minute drive.
